Yeah, what's the point on this, really? Nobody's even running this damn card to begin with, and even if they are, what are the chances your only means of subduing it are a Maiev?
...And then what are the chances you don't win the game after you play the Maiev on it?
I honestly don't know if there's ever been more of a non-issue in Hearthstone's history.

The point is: The game has a bug, it should be fixed.
I don't think it's a bug. If you have managed to awaken your Magtheridon, the wardens had had to die. So if you make him dormant again with Maiev, in the scripts the wardens did appear before and died, so ibviously the effect will trigger.

It's not a bug. On awaken, he destroys all minions. Maiev forces him to awaken rather than his usual trigger, and so he destroys all minions. It's a completely intended mechanic as with all other dormant cards but the wording could maybe be improved.

Uhm, by reading the card, I think that the boardclear is triggered by the death of the tokens, and then, after that, Magtheridon awakens.
I would totally expect the effect to go off again here, same as with all other awaken effects. I think rather than this being an interaction bug with Maiev, the problem is that the text is unclear. So if anything the text should be reworded.
The card text says nothing about a one-time effect, so it should be repeated every time he awakens if his condition is met. It is a bit like when multiple Feugen and Stalaggs die.
The card text does not specify other ways of going dormant than "starting" but it is still a fine interaction imo.
Probably should change the wording on the card or the effect, sure. They don't match up.
I hope so, because is confusing. Only by reading the card text I sincerily think this is a bug, propably a problem with the dormant counter being completed. Maybe the card it's coded to clear the board with the counter reach its end, and is not capable to differenciate Maiev's counter from the battlecry one.
I think you're reading this wrong. His text says "When they die, destroy all minions and awaken." The condition which triggers the awakening and board clear is the minions being destroyed. "When they die" is not the same as "has died" (which is the Feugen and Stalagg condition). To me it is also a different "awakening" than when he awakes from Maiev which has no precondition or effect.
By contrast If the text said - "when this minion awakens destroy all minions" then I reckon he should trigger after Maiev even if the original awakening condition was the three dudes dying. Does anyone know how the other dormant minions work? Imprisoned Antean should probably do 10 damage again when he awakens after Maiev - that would make sense with his card text.
Long story short - I think it's a bug (or could do with clearer wording)
I played Magtheridon in Gala Warlock day 1 of expansion (before everyone refined Gala Warlock), because I got it in a pack...the card single-handedly defeated a number of Demon Hunters...cut it now that DH is not so prevalent
When Magtheridon awoken from the battlecry effect of Maiev Shadowsong it destroys all minions again, I think it doesn't suppose to work that way.
The Magtheridon card text says:
Dormant. Battlecry: Summon three 1/3 enemy Warders. When they die, destroy all minions and awaken.
The boardclear effect shouldn't be triggered a second time by the Maviev's battlecry.
Please Blizz, fix this.
It has to be snakes.
The card needs any help it can get, dude.

It has to be snakes.
And my point is: This is the most trivial of issues conceivable.

Maybe, but it's still an issue. I don't see a reason to be conformist about that.

All of the other imprisoned work like this.
Let me break it down for you:
1. The battlecry summons the wardens
2. The condition to get out of dormant is for them to be dead.
3. M-daddy is imprisoned again, to awake in two turns.
4. He awakes and because the condition was/is met he triggers his twisting nether.
Simple as that. If it helps there's probably a way to outsmart your opponent since he can't risk playing high priority minions into it as well.
I would totally expect the effect to go off again here, same as with all other awaken effects. I think rather than this being an interaction bug with Maiev, the problem is that the text is unclear. So if anything the text should be reworded.

You can't stop the signal.
Well the texts seems pretty clear that him awakening kills everything.
