Almost a month later and Im still dealing with games freezing every other game or so. Blizzard has no interest in fixing this so I guess I'll have to buy a new phone. Does anyone know an affordable Android device unaffected by this bug?
My Note 9 rarely crashes. The instances I found that (sometimes) it happens is when I'm chatting in the in-game chat app and there is a match starting. That's interesting, cause when the former patch went live, the bugs were very frequent, but after the last one, these issues are almost non-existent now.
don't bother getting a new phone, wait for a patch
my Note10+ crashes quite often too, no point in spending money to get a phone for one game, especially that in your price range you won't get anything decent and new anyway
I have a Pixel 2 XL and 6P before both phones played the game flawless until 2 patches ago. Seems to be a memory issue not unlike the one that D3 suffered. The longer the game is open and more instances/matches you have the operating system is storing the data.
I have yet to experience a crash but after 4-5 matches the game gets very laggy and unplayable. Closing the app and restarting fixes the problem (clears the memory cache most likely).
It's like Blizz added a data collecting feature into the game a few patches ago. In 5 years I've never experienced game play issues before on mobile.

I thought it was a regular android software problem, and not hardware related? I am using my A70 which cost 1/3 of Note 9 and no crashes.
Thanks but that is out of my price range though. Looking for something $100-150.

I'm not convinced they will fix this problem. Haven't even formally addressed it really
One Plus or Xiaomi, if it's available in your region..

I believe they have said somewhere they know about the problem and know what's causing it and are working on a fix
you have to remember that it's not easy to push a new version of the app to the play store that quickly
but if they started working on it this week and fixed it, I would assume we can get a patch even sometime next week
srsly, I would wait if I was you, what if you get a new phone and it still crashes?
