Pretend you see a smily face in the title and at the end of the post since the site doesn't let me use them :(
I have a slight problem with Hearthstone atm
I have since the last standard rotation with DK's (jaina and anduin mostly) rotating out as well as the powerlevel dropping down by a lot,I've Always enjoyed really long games involving gigantic boardswings, lifegain for days WITHOUT stupid "i win" or "no fatigue Forever"(to quantify adding more than 4/5 cards to your deck Is unfun for both players) or infinite cards ,by that I mean ACTUAL infinite not "Rexxar" or (as the idiots say) "Jaina" that can be dealt with by a powerful enough value/slow deck
I have been playing and enjoying wild quite a bit but 2 problems arised
1) everyone's favorite deck: big priest
I know It's not infinite and i Also realize that what that deck does Is kind of similar to what i described as my favourite playstyle BUT (as for everything) there IS such a thing as too much, and big Priest Is exactly that (Also games tend to not be all that short when they highroll 264 ragnaros by turn 7)
2)every time i have to craft a card It feels like a """waste""" since I Will only be able to use It there, this wasn't as much of an issue before as most strong standard cards were Also good to decent in wild
As a sidenote mill decks are hedious to play vs and there are way too many there (the correct quantity Is 0 so even 1 Is 1 too many)
By the way YES Rexxar Is not actually infinite since you can (at least i did) beat him in fatigue,Also helps that the wild Beast pool makes him weaker
Hi there. I'm going to assume you're asking for advice on : 1. How to beat Big Priest in Wild 2. How to avoid "Wasting" dust crafting cards? (I'm not sure exactly if that's what you are asking here or not - bit confusing)
So. The easy part: 1. To beat Big Priest generally (there are a few ways you can do it, as others will probably chime in), your best and easiest way to beat it is to try and disrupt their resurrection mechanics as best as possible. So Polymorph and Hex are your friends here and the sort of thing you're looking for. Polymorph Potion is good. And that spell that turns things into a Boar - though obviously you'll need a way to get rid of the boar / use a taunt etc. Alrternatively for other classes, you can use things like Psychic Scream, or that neutral legendary guy who turns minions into squirrels. You get the idea. Alternatively, silence effects will help, but nowhere near as much. And plenty of board clears if you have no other options.
Lastly, shrug and accept that sometimes this deck will steamroller you when it rolls high. It's the strength of that deck, unfortunately.
2. If you want cards, you're going tohave to grind packs, or use your dust. And unless it's from the classic set, then at some point they are going to leave standard. Judging by your previous question about Wild Priest, I'm going to assum you play in Wild a fair bit though, so it shouldn't be a problem. Crafting cards is never a waste of dust (unless you're crafting something you already have the max of - in fact I can't remember if that's even possible anyway). There will always be a use for any card you craft, even if just in Wild and in some meme deck. This is the way the game works. It is unlikely to change.
Extra: 3. You may not like mill decks, but they are not going anywhere any time soon. Get a copy of Elysiana if you find yourself getting milled a lot. Or adapt and find a strategy that can deal with this problem.
4. Rexxar IS considered infinite, but not for the reasoning you appear to have. It's not about being able to play indefinitely long against fatigue - instead, it is considered infinite because you will always have a card even if your deck runs out. Fatigue will still kill you, but you'll keep having cards available to play until you die / win.
You could just go back to Standard and play Control Warrior, and accept that the overall power level of Standard is cyclical. It grows over the course of the year and drops again at rotation. That's the way it has to be.

Wild is a place for big crazy stuff to happen. Sometimes you will get high rolled and you can't do anything about it. It is not just big priest pulling off crazy shit either. Thekal Giant Paladin and Darkest Hour Warlock can have you facing down a beating very early. The aggro is so fast that getting to 6 mana can feel like it's taking forever as you bleed out.
I play both standard and wild. I play wild when I want to play some crazy broken shit, or a walk down memory lane with something like Reno, Jade, Secret Pally. The variety of decks and the competitiveness are all over the place in wild. I play standard when I want to ladder in a meta where the decks are known. Standard ladder feels more competitive, but is easier since you know what you are playing against.
Playing both formats I think is the way to go that way if you are getting tired in one you can switch to the other for awhile. Also I look at crafting differently from you. When considering crafting a legendary I ask will this also be good in Wild. I think it is more of a waste to craft something that will only have a 2 year shelf life. Wild is the eternal format. Your cards are always good there.
