after the latest rotation I've found myself trying to craft and create several control type decks.
What I came across looking, learning and playing the most played and best-preforming decks is that they are realy "aggro-ish", minions oriented decks with high re-load opportunities that allows to keep up the pase. And when it comes head-to-head on ladder, it's usually who ever pulls out more wins.
Talking about decks like: Token Druid, Murloc Shaman, Mech Hunter (That is a bit more mid-game, but still have a massive early game), Zoo and all Rouge decks. The ability to throw tons of "tokens" and recharge with some Underbelly Angler , Mana Cyclone or The Soularium ....
The only exception that I've seen around the whole tier 1/2 decks is the Control Warrior, which honestly I'm not a big fan of, so I've tried to make another heavy control that will "counter" the decks I talked about.
The problem I came around is the low amount of responses in the early game, that 90% of the times throws you off realy fast. When before the rotation we used to have cards like Defile , or Volcanic Potion, and even Mistress of Mixtures ( Zombie Chow ). And now I find it hard to find another thing to back-up my Doomsayer that barely survives by the high presure of this HEAVY early-game decks. And from that, I see how Control Warrior "sucks-up" all that winrate, Warpath following with Weapons Project and infinite armour from Eternium Rover and Shield Block .
What do you guys think? Will another Control type deck pop up sometime soon in the high tiers decks? Are you enjoying in the current meta? Share what you think.
Exactly this. Control Shaman is pretty great. I guess HandLock is a pseudo Control Deck? There's some choice out there to be sure. Thing is, Warrior has always been THE Control Class so it's no surprise that it's come to the fore again.
As others have said Control Shaman is amazing and even better now that Elysiana was nerfed. There are a ton of lists online you could try and climb ladder with
If aggro decks are beating you, you have not built a very good control deck -- either that, or you're actually playing against a midrange deck.
When a deck has lots of strong reload capability, it's usually midrange, even if its early game seems a bit aggressive. (Such aggressive midrange decks are often called tempo decks.)
Lots of people talk about Token Druid as if it's aggro -- and I'll agree that it can sometimes have a shockingly good start -- but those strong starts are not all that consistent, and the presence of Forest's Aid places it very firmly in the tempo/midrange column. That fact that it's so good at beating control decks confirms this.
If you want to beat these kinds of decks, what you really want to build is a true aggro deck. The current version of Zoolock is a good example -- it has great success against midrange decks (including many of the ones you mentioned), but it generally loses to control.

Thunderhead Control Shaman works wonders for me.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
IDK how viable on ladder it would be but I'm really enjoying the Zayle's Warlock deck.
