As preface, you're not playing a "completely original and homebrew" deck if you only changed a couple of cards from an existing netdeck.
The Salt Thread have been home to enough entries about how "casual sucks because of netdecks", which gave me an insight about HS community in general, the more I've read it. People tend to complain about the most minute shit ever. Apparently, you're not allowed to play anything in casual. Examples range from Muckmorpher Shaman and Holy Wrath Pally, to Heal Druid and Nomi Priest (all have below %50 winrates). I fail to understand what the problem is.
So my question to the people who complain about casual: What do you want to play against? If you want to stomp beginners who play River Crocolisks and Chillwind Yetis, then concede a bunch of times until your MMR is lower.
As for what i enjoy facing in casual, basically anything that allows me to play my deck.If i do my thing but lose anyway, so be it. I had my fun, i did the interaction i was hoping to make, so i am satisfied.
Losing to a spamming 'i will be your death' or 'greetings traveller' before i get to even play my deck is not fun.Ok sir, you won.I hope your sore from ranked b*tthole feels better now that you won my meme deck with your S tier deck.

Incidentally, I only play casual when I have a quest and I concede when I get it done. But if there's anything I hate more than casual, it's people being hypocrites.
Though I sometimes get a bit annoyed when people are playing high tier decks that are easy to pilot in casual, it does give me the opportunity to test my homebrew decks properly on how they'd perform against them.
If you've built a meme deck that tries to summon 2 Ancient Ones with Khadgar on turn 17 and complain about casual then you probably have to consider the fact you'll have an overall 99% lose rate against any 30 cards anyway.
A third meme game mode where you can't grind your daily gold would be the only solution.

If you want to complete a quest with s tier decks then why not play them in ranked instead? That's what i do as it progresses my rank as well. Two birds with one stone. The ' i do it for quests' argument is a lame excuse for those who are either salty and use casual to vent of their frustration, or for those who have rank anxiety and are afraid of losing their 14 rank.
And this does not affect only those who want to experiment, but hinders those who don't have a competive deck to complete thier quests as well.Huh and you call me a hypocrite.

Literally any deck 'allows you to play your deck' though? Whether you face a control warrior, face hunter or meme priest, you can still play your deck.
I want to play meme decks. They should add the meme mode instead of casual.
Or at least I would to like to ban a class (in casual), rogue.
How would you even define a "meme" deck though?
Arch-Villain Rafaam looked like he would be meme-y but then showed up at HCT.
Intact, there are countless meme-level cards hanging around in top-tier decks at the moment. So I've no idea how you'd expect a meme mode to be implemented...
Besides, if you want to play meme decks, do what I do - either play them on a rank floor or play them on casual and just concede to the matches you clearly aren't going to win.

I'm not calling you a hypocrite, I was talking about people who complain about netdecks while also playing netdecks.

There is even a 3rd option: use Wild or Standard as your meme-mode and just play ranked, not caring about your stars.
Some clearly do not take casual very seriously. Yesterday, I played 2 consecutive games vs and "odd" rogue with Cold Blood. Yup, these 2 in the same deck:
I tried to add him to say he probably missed a nerf... Yeye, I got 2 wins and my Warlock card quest.
The beauty and downfall of Casual is that everyone believes (and technically rightly so) that the mode belongs to them to play whatever they want. However, this also means that some people also seem to think this means that they can decide what others should be allowed to play against them as well, which is much less the case.
People whine about Netdecks (me included at times) because it's frustrating to see the same decks repeatedly and losing in the same way each time (which is actually the fault of both parties: the opponent for using a deck that everyone uses because it's easy and overpowered, but also the player for not bothering to build something that counters the deck they are expecting to see, and then being upset when they come up against it). It's all about entitlement, essentially. Players are naturally entitled and expect the game to work the way they think it should - usually that means offering them some sort of underlying advantage.
The criticism of casual mode can be summarized as: 'I want to play bad decks, but I want to win with them also'.
It's not that. It's the fact 90% of the time in Casual you face literally almost the same decks as in Ranked. The best example is from yesterday when in Wild Casual I faced a Bomb Warrior with no Wild cards in his deck. And if I have quests that requires me to do something without winning it would be nice to not face a tryhard ranked deck that kills me before I even end up doing at least a small part of the quest.

When comparing to games where skills, competition and winning is more important than hearthstone, the complains become absurd imo:
-MOBA: How dare you play a standard lineup vs our experimental 4-support meme comp in unranked mode? I am sure it is viable, but you meta-scrubs keep ruining it for me!
-SC2 (wol) How dare you 4-gate me in unraked? I don't care if you are learning protos, I just hate when people play the same OP buildorders I can face in ranked! I just want my 3-hatch before pool build into ultralisk build to work but you keep ruining my whole gaming experience!
To be fair there's more tools and potential to meme in wild than in standard..
90% of my decks currently are wild memery- from weasel hunter, recurring villain hunter, Beast Generation Casino feat. Hunting party... to my latest unreleased Spell damage slimy patron.
I lose I'd say 3 of 5 matches but these 2 glorious high rolls makes it worth it.

Winning!? Nah dawg *Meme-ing!*!! (but also winning)

The problem is there exists flexible fun cards that are also good enough to be in competitive lists. So if I want to run Tess Rogue in casual and not be accused of netdecking, does that mean I can't run Prep, Fan, Raiding Party, Greenskin, Blink Fox, Deadly Poison, SI:7, or Shadowstep? What's left? If I want to run a meme Priest deck, does that mean I can't run Northshire, PWS, any removal?

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
BS thread tbh. In casual I want to play my decks and I do enjoy challenging or fun games, even when I LOSE. But facing the same decks which I would face at ladder just is boring as fuck.
It's the fact 90% of the time in Casual you face literally almost the same decks as in Ranked.
Which is pretty much exactly how it should be. Casual means "Unranked" (in juxtaposition to the "Ranked" mode), not "Place for Only Janky Homebrew Decks and decks that my Tier Z creation has a chance to win..." It is completely expected and acceptable for Casual decks to pretty much mirror those found in the "Ranked" mode.
Its just bs. I dont play good decks in casual because i want to stomp bad players but if i wanna do my quests with a deck where i have little to no experience i wont take it into ranked and loose 3 stars on rank 3 or smth.
Casual is still a normal PvP mode just without a ranking system. If you expect to bring a tier 5 deck and the other player to let you draw 30 cards so you can pull your combo you are just delusional.
You tell me to play ranked then? Well i would tell you to go play a friend or the innkeeper.
BTW i enjoy bringing trash tier decks into casual from time to time aswell and its fun to meet other such tier decks but i wont whine because i lost to a better deck in a PvP game.
