Hey guys i want to hear your *Constructive* critism about aggro playstyle. I feel like there are nearly no Player in the Forums that enjoy playing aggro.. I personaly play mostly aggro decks but dont mind to play also Control decks from time to time.
But one thing i absolutly dislike are 20 minute Control vs Control games. I feel like therefore is the one star and 33Gold you get just not rewarding enough ( its also about the fun but you know what i mean. I also dont think this games are that funny to play but that is just me i guess).
I mostly enjoy playing in a balanced aggro vs control meta like in Renolock meta where both archtypes were really strong and fun to play. thats why i dont understand why so many ppl dosnt wanna see any aggro decks on the ladder. Do you wanna have control decks be super broken like before the Druid nerf or the pre Nerf Cubelock meta? I feel like that was the time most ppl. were raging about the meta and stopped playing HS.
Right now there is the hunter being super strong but i dont think its a good example of a aggro deck because you win that often just with rexxar by outvalueing your opponent which i personaly hate.
So whats your oppinion do you mostly enjoy a control heavy Meta with long games or do you also think there should be good aggro decks being around?
I’m more of a midrange player. I don’t really care for aggro because it’s not interactive. The flow is almost always dictated by the aggressive deck. And aggro players are typically assholes. I also hate heavy control metas where EVERY game lasts forever. I prefer a good mix of all three but there hasn’t been any good midrange decks in a while.
The issue I think most people have with aggro is that it ultimately renders a lot of the interesting decisionmaking meaningless, and reduces the game down to a binary "did you draw response X in first Y cards, Y/N?"
I'm sure Aggro v Aggro has a lot of interesting decisions to be made - when to trade vs face, how to maximize board presence etc. But that definitely is not the case with aggro v just about anything else.
Put in another way, aggro decks test your ability to construct a finely tuned machine, not necessarily your ability to pilot it, where most midrange and control decks are more interested in piloting a machine to victory by your own skill.
I don't like some Aggro decks as it encourages a brain-dead style of play with little thought and sense to the game and matchups. Pirate Warrior for example did just that. It was very much a play cards and go face style of deck and they were winning against control decks and players who payed attention to the game.
Personally it's not fundamentaly aggro that I hate, but I hate decks that are not interactive, very polarised, gives you no chance to win whatever you do, forces you to play tier 1 decks and prevent you from playing the style of decks that you like.
My favorite types of deck are Reno decks, and I also loved an elemental deck of Savjz https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1141611-elemental-quest-mage I played it a tone even I couldn't climb up very high with it. I like decks with a big decision tree, where all games are different (so I love discover, get a random thing, Reno decks also give more variety), where the thing you do go crescendo in power, where you can have really cool stuff happening but not every games like resurect Priest.
To be honest, I hated it when it was Top Tier all the time. Every dumb idiot could run this and get some wins.
But with the last two years I saw, that the powercreep Control/Combo decks ware simply way more disgusting to play against. I love playing control myself. I still love the TGT Control Priest, even did a legend season with control mage while it was not in the meta at all. It is fun. But the reason why it was fun for me is probably the fact you faced a lot of aggro decks you could outplay.
This morning I had two control matchups already and it took almost an hour. Yeh, it's not fun. EDIT: To that point I have to say that I mostly win those control mirror matches. Especially in those mirrors you have to keep an eye on a lot of things. Most people that simply netdeck are definetly too stupid for that.
But there is a reason I love arena. I love the minion based gameplay. That's why I would appreciate more Midrange decks all the way.
I am putting 30 cards in my deck, Let me see them, let me feel them, let me play them...
Jokes aside; Tbh, I am playing with aggro sometimes. Mostly %5 (maybe %2-3)of my time. Aggro decks don't care what opponent plays. That's why I don't like aggro.
I just want to shout to my opponent when I play against an aggro deck like "Hell!! Look at me !! I'm here!! Don't act like I'm not !! OMG Am I a Ghost !?!? "
They are ignoring me ! :(
and it is just minion spam. Aggro gains a new meaning in hearthstone. Aggro means "full of minions" normally in card games. Elemental Mage should call an aggro deck for example but it is not same Aggro deck with Zoo-lock or Aggro Hunter deck.
Anyways. I hate aggro, simply because games end until t7. Even if I win against. They just concede if you have board control after t7 and I have 8-9-10 mana cards in my deck too. They are simply stealing my time and preventing me to play. They just win by t7 or concede by t7. That's not funny, but really..
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Main reasons why i don't enjoy playing/facing aggro:
I Build a 30 cards deck,i want to use AT LEAST most of them
Aggro matchups for slower decks usually come down to: did i draw the answer to X card? If Yes,i Survive if no,i die.this makes your topdecks matter too much because you are pressured every turn
Anyway i don't hate aggro (even though i really don't enjoy It),I think midrange and control are WAY more fun and less decided by topdecks
The archetype i hate Is combo/mill/infinite since:
1) it's only there to win vs a single archetype and almost surely lose to everything else
2) it's the ONLY kind of archetype that forces you to play in a different way to what your deck does (if you are a control deck)
3) once It gets it's combo Pieces or starts going infinite there Is NO counterplay wich Is the worst/most unfun feeling possible
Especially in Casual when you want to try out some homebrew decks with rare cards and unique interactions.... You can not because you die to aggro until turn 6. So you never can play your e.g. Krag'wa, the Frog or Splintergraft. So yeah wasting time 5 matches in a row facing only aggro makes you sick of those, they limit the game and cards
I think I just sucks to lose. Whatever deck type you normally play, you generally tend to hate the opposite deck type.
This whole brainless thing is kinda bull. Most decks are pretty brain dead. Aggro= go face. Control = clear board play taunt. Combo = do nothing win game. You can only have 10 cards in your hand at most points in the game your options are pretty limited and you're going to make the most sensible play you can.
Now it's obviously a lot more complicated than that but every competitive thing in the world is exactly the same. Some football teams have better offenses than defenses. Some baseball teams have better Fielding or hitters.
If I have a ton of time to sit and play I'm going to play a control type deck, I love the value game honestly. But I don't always have that time. When I don't I play more aggressive decks so I can at least get a few games in before I'm done.
But in the end I know one thing for sure. When I play an aggro deck it's frustrating when I queue into 5 warriors in a row, and also when I play a control deck and all I get are odd pally and Hunter. But that's the game. I say get over it, sometimes you lose to your counter and it feels bad. Put your adult pants on and quit crying about it.
I love aggro/midrange decks. I play wild: beast hunter, mech Hunter, spellhunter, secret burn mage, pirate kingsbane Rogue, Odd paladin, aggro paladin, even shaman, overload burn shaman and discard warlock. I like interacting with my opponents board through minion combat and every aggro deck has its special moments:
Mech hunter: winning in turn 3 before the opposing player has even played a card
Beast Hunter: that perfect zombeast that clears the board/gives you lethal or heals you out of lethal range
Burn mage: having aluneth and iceblock down and knowing that winning over the next 3 turns is inevidable
Pirate kingsbane Rogue: prep + raiding party turn 1, leading to a buffed weapon, a board full of pirates and an empty hand by turn 2/3. Saping a cheated-out voidlord or obsidian statue. Playing myra's
Odd paladin: knowing before every game starts that your opening is going to be good. Playing prince Liam on curve against control warrior with a divine favor in hand
Aggro paladin: playing thekal + molten Giant on turn 3. Having acces to good stat manipulation in aldor peacekeeper and keeper of uldaman.
Even shaman: hexing a cheated-out voidlord or obsidian statue, windfury on a 4mana 7/7 with burn in hand. Mealstrom portal on a board full of dudes
Burn shaman: getting that sweet tunnel trogg, totem golem opener, drawing through your deck with spirit of the frog
Discard warlock: playing malchezaars imp + solarium and drawing your silverware golem(s). Discarding Just the right cards to give you lethal.
Aggro decks are not hated at least by the decent players. They punish combo decks and greedy/badly built decks. They are basically the fungi that clear the trash of the ladder.
Aggro players though...they are the Tomas edison of the ladder. And by that i mean that they are so much less hated than they deserve to be. Poluting casual mode, basically making it unplayable, ropping when they know you have won but your deck is slow to finish them quickly, spamming before leathal etc...
And if you think that the smorcers in hs are the worst, then my sweet summerchild you have no idea...In hs, smorcers are by far the most well behaved in comparisson to other games. This is because in hs, everything is kinda braindead and easy. In magic arena, eternal and Elderscroll (before that game turned to shit), where skill actually matters, the smorcers show their true and ugly face... Against mono red and blue in arena i know that if i win the game on the spot but i cannot kill them,(aoe-denying draws/plays) it is almost certain that i will have an 15 minutes match before me because of their ropping. Plus the rage after the game. This happens because in hs, people play smorc because they find it fun, in skill intensive games, they play it because it's the only thing they can play as they are trash. And as trash, they become toxic when they cannot rush the game.
Aggro decks= perfectly viable decks and necessary for the game
I actually don’t mind aggro as my play style is very anti aggro, so I usually feel pretty comfortable. The only really hate I have is for divine favor as it gives aggro reload which is unbalanced. It’s getting nerfed though so that’s good

I hate combo. Agro, midrange and control are all fine.
I like aggro decks AND control decks, but if a game ends way too early or every game lasts long forever, then I dislike it.
I love midrange.
I like elementals and totems.
Aggro is only hated when it is meta (which it always is), have a meta without any aggro decks and people will whine about not having aggro decks.

I would rather play Let's Flip a Coin than play against aggro decks.
There are tons of fun slow cards that aggro punishes you for playing. Playing against aggro is always the same, decisions? None.

In 2 weeks i will add these to the list:
Secret paladin: triggering avenge twice
Bomb warrior: watching renolock concede in turn 6
I dont hate aggro, I hate the brain dead players who doesnt see or do anything else beside charging my fucking face ... just go face face face
