I think there's some value in puzzle labs even though I got bored of it quickly - it would be good for content between the expansions, for example. But it doesn't hold a candle to the K&C Dungeon Run, IMO. That remains my favorite single player experience for HS. I don't find much fun in figuring out an obscure path laid out by the designers, and you can forget about replay value. My two cents.

They're fun....the first couple stages anyways. At a certain point, just solving a single level would have taken me 30 to 40 minutes, and thanks, but no thanks. I like the idea of puzzles, but the later stages are too difficult.
In my opinion.

To me, puzzle lab wass basically the Hearthstone equivalent of a sudoku. And I love sudoku! I find a deep satisfaction in figuring something out, getting right. I don't care about replayability, but I love being challenged to think differetly than I normally do while playing Hearthstone. Both Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt were/are great, but I like that Blizzard is trying something new. I would much rather have the puzzle lab than Dungeon Run vol. 3 or deck building challenges like the old adventure mode used to be (not fun for new players).
These longer puzzles could be vastly improved with an "undo last move" button. Often, I've been getting 5 or 6 or 7 moves deep and get close to solving, but screw something up and then need to start over, but don't remember what I did to get there.

I love em. I just love puzzles in general. I wish that every boom puzzle would just give something better as a reward because you solve something that hard nad you just.....gets nothing. But anyway, neat idea
for me puzzle labs is far better because it actually requires you to use your brain and some skill, where as dungeon run and monster hunt are just pure RNG whether you win or not and for that reason I love puzzle labs.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
Dungeon run was the best thing they've done in years.
I'd go so far as to say puzzle labs feels like busy work. Not really enjoyable, you just power through it and you are pretty much done with it after doing every puzzle once.
Yes, there is some cleverness in there, so it's not devoid of a certain degree of fun.
I personally see Puzzle Labs more of an evolution of the Monster Hunt concept, but I can't say I prefer one over the other. Moving away from adventures to full expansions, I think Blizzard giving the community some PvE content is justifiable.
So Monster Hunt / Dungeon Runs started with the (sort of) concept of deck building. How to group together different buckets of cards to functional decks that'll navigate the PvE rounds. Sure some buckets were awful but did this expose players to sub-optimal cards and make them think about how to use them? I think so. Any experiental gain here could work in rated play or arena as far as I'm concerned.
Puzzle labs strikes me as MUCH more concise. You're given cards and a scenario. I rather like this evolution. Will they make me a better player? Dunno but I sure as hell hope so.
dungeon run was great but monster hunt was too much. It appears to a certain player and having to spend an hour on a run that you might lose to in rng is frustrating, and that is how monster hunt was. I havent even finished the quests for monster hunt, i just hated it. I think its good to vary expansions. In the old days expansions had deck building bosses but also had eaay puzzles for the bonus cards in each wing. I think puzzle labs is like the harder version of those puzzles. Plus for a science themed expansion to have puzzles to make you think is a great addition. In the end hearthstone needs to appeal to a broad player base and not just high skilled people with hours upon hours to play each day. Most people who play are not that skilled and or do not have much time. This expansions content has been pretty good.
Puzzle labs - Good concept, bad solution. I have few problems with this game mode: 1) No rewards 2) Pretty bad difficulty scaling - It was incredibly easy till i encountered Dr. Boom. Then it was like "what the fuck am i supposed to do?! NANI?!"
well, i strongly disagree with the OP. why? well, the puzzles simply test your game-knowledge without RNG involved (at least the ones i played so far, had no RNG involved).
I stopped playing the Dungeon Run or Monster Hunt, since i get RNG-fu.... so hard every time. it was just a frustrating experience for me
I don't think they are very comparable to dungeon run/monster hunt. It's more like an advanced practice mode. Going through these puzzles would get new players to start thinking in ways they didn't even consider, at least the lethal puzzles.
For me though it just feels like work, not playing, so since I don't want the card back, I won't be completing it.
Seriously, I really don't understand those that need a reward to have a reason to play a game mode. Hearthstone is a game! FUN is the reward! Isn't it nice that you're not being forced to do something that you don't enjoy in the hope you might get a good pack?
Geez. Imagine complaining that Netflix doesn't give you something in return for hours spent watching re-runs of Friends.

Listen to what people are saying though. Not everyone finds this game mode fun.
It's fun for people who dont complain when they lose. I haven't finished it all yet but when I get stuck I just check my math on mana, damage, etc. I'm glad it's not easy for everyone. It's a true test and tbh I think some parts might help people learn.

I don't find much fun in playing a more rng version of hearthstone without rewards against stupid ass ai. At least with puzzle labs, careful thought and understanding are required to succeed or you can just cheat to get the reward. You can't expect skill to get you good cards or bosses that don't punish you for the deck you have build in the dungeon modes, likewise you can't just google the answers if you don't enjoy it. Over all Puzzle Labs is objectively better, if only by virtue of being able to skip it's challenge entirely to receive the card back.

Anyone else lose their mind and give up completely trying to solve the lethal one with Defile and the 0/10 that switches sides when it takes damage?
As if Defile weren't a difficult card to play as it is.

Yeah I have ZERO interest in puzzle labs. Will probably just use the cheat article off here to burn through it really quick just to get the card back.

It doesn't have the replay value, obviously. But also, we don't need our 3rd dungeon run in a row.
