I really really dont like 90% of the card arts. Really boring and i hate to admit it since it is Blizzard and the WoW Universe, but this expansion is really not thrilling me at all. Yeah, most of the cards are good, but the fluff is so wide and full of exciting Themes.. Why did they choose this, after there already was GvG? I really cant understand it. Yeah it could be because im a fan of traditional High Fantasy, not of cringy science sh***. But i am really disappointed with the whole thing an d i hate the Art on 90% of the Cards and really this"every class gets one science", i dont like it. Gobbos and Mechs for everyone,it kust annoys me.. yeah of course ill buy it. But i hope this is not what awaits us in the future with ubercreep Peter W. running the whole show.
And i know this is flaming on highest niveau, cause its freaking Blizzard and i loved from the card art perspective every expansion, except GvG,which braught me to a 4 months stop. This is like the Us loosing in American Football to Macedonia.
What are your thoughts?
P.S. BBB (Bring Back Brode, and if only for the streams)
I agree 110%!!! Seriously the worst art ever. It's almost like every card is exactly the same. It's either some jank mech or a goblin or some sort. Zzzzz...
The cards so far seem very uninteresting and nothing has seemed even a tad bit fun yet. And this magnetize mechanic is pretty lame. Its almost as if they've turned every creature into a miniature Bonemare of sorts. So lame.
The Hearthstone team has the ENTIRE FREAKING WOW UNIVERSE to come up with concepts for sets and they keep choosing really lame ideas. Boomsday Project?? Like what were they thinking? Who thought that this would spark a ton of interest? I'm not preordering anything from this set and so far i'm not one bit excited for any of the cards from the new expansion.
The cards are really fun and interesting so far. On the other hand I agree with you on the fact that the theme of the expansion is ultra lame. One of the most important features of the game is the lore behind the cards, that's what makes the cards really cool. When I tried other card games they looked so bad mainly because the art and names seemed so random, I couldn't be interested in any of those.
I hope that Blizzard will return to WoW lore someday :( I mean... last year we had FCKIN LICH KING, and now a bunch of weird stuff came outta nowhere... They could have done so many awesome cards with the netherstorm theme and they came up with this trash theme :(

Its not like Brode never had a hand in this expansion, they plan these way in advance so his influence is still here. Peter W is a creep though I can agree
I don't like the theme and the concept of mechs and science either, but I must say, the card art isn't bad at all. The one thing I can't forgive though, is not having Goblin Zeppelin as a neutral card, although I didn't play GvG so it might be there. I laugh in the face of danger...AHAHAHAHAH
Well, they officially changed the name from Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft about a year and a half ago, largely because Hearthstone is its own unique game, and they don't want to be restricted to stuff in WoW lore.
Also, do note that expansions tend to travel in "waves:" they oscillate back and forth between serious and light-hearted, from WoW-centric to Hearthstone-original. So while some expansions may be goofy, rest assured that there's always another lore-heavy expansion around the corner (and vice versa :P).
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.
I was really stoked about the Witchwood theme, art and style. But man, the reveals so far are way cooler i.m.o. compared to the first couple of revealed card during the Witchwood.

Yes, last year we had cool stories from wow lore and many characters/things from it, for example Lich King, Sulfuras turning our hero power into DIE INSECT!, Aluneth, Val'Anyr, Rhok'delar... This year we had only Genn Greymane from well-known wow characters.
But if you look on past years, each year there are less characters from warcraft moved to hs. Even if they have "almost infinite" number of characters, weapons and spells, they are slowly running out of ideas, mostly because of mechanics. I also don't like theme of this expansion because of no lore behind the cards and the expansion itself. I hope that 3rd expansion will bring us some lore stories, and it won't be something like The Patches's Booty or Pirate Day

You lost me at bring back ben. Makes the rest of your post just whiney nostalgic bitter blab. Moving forward
This breaks down to personal preference. No need for a rant. I disliked Karazhan Art, but hey, HS releases about 400 cards each year...

As i wrote in a similar thread, i think the problem is with the whole theme of the expansion.
I find names to be fitting, and arts too, with many details that give tvem some depth.
Problem is the theme is all about mechs and experiments, and it is a bit too much if it covers the whole expansion.

I guess it is all about taste. I really liked KoFT and MSoG. I am not so stoked either about this expansion's theme.
