Silence "thaws" a minion, but obviously, at the cost of also silencing whatever other effect the card might have had. A dedicated thaw mechanic is pretty unlikey as it's too niche, in my opinion, and if it did exist, it would be way too niche to be teched into any deck.
Silence does that...had a game in Wild the other day, Inner Fire Priest vs Exodia Mage, where a Kabal Songstealer on one of my own minions after a Blizzard saved the day.
So there's not much call for seperate mechanic...and there aren't many freeze effects in the game. Much less in Standard.
It was already done with this card which was cut early on in hearthstones alpha days. Effect is simply to niche to be useful which is why we won't ever see it become a thing in game.

After playing a few games in Wild today, I was wondering if "Thaw" was ever considered as a card flavour in Hearthstone yet?
You know, "Thaw a friendly minion?" to get around the 'Freeze' mechanic?
It would cost a fair bit I'd imagine, but I can't find anything regarding it?
Thanks in advance.

Silence has almost the same effect plus freeze isn't used that much so I don't see a point in having a counter mechanic
