Apologies for taking time, I looked around a little but couldn't find the answer I was loking for. Apologies, again, if this was answered before.
The newest nerfs arrived with cubelock being smashed and quest rogue dying. I was wondering, before the nerfs arrive, will I get the dust value if I craft the cards now? The nerfs were announced, so now giving players who had the cards dust value would be letting them farm, but I'm still not sure if that's allowed or not.
If it isn't, I was planning to craft the cavern's below, if you get the dust back anyway, might as well just have it.
This isn't like the Hall of Fame cards. You will only get the dust value if you disenchant the cards. If you craft Call to Arms right now, it will cost you 400 dust. When the nerfs hit, you will only get that 400 dust back if you disenchant the card.
I crafted the rogue quest exactly because I know they will give me a full refund. I've done this in previous nerfs too. It's 100% safe. You can even craft them after the nerf but before the refund period ends and still get a full refund
Totally worth the effort, by the way; I ended up reaching legend with quest rogue in under 50 games at a 80% winrate
The question isnt if its safe, but why do it. If your looking for extra dust, you wont get it, so its not worth doing. If you want to try a card and see if its worth crafting, then it is worth it. You will have a little time to play the card and if you dont want it, you can still get your dust back.
Why I wanted to do it was because if the cost is gonna come back to me anyway, why not just add the cards to my collection. I didn't have it before, now I do and it basically cost me nothing. Free legendary, that's the point.

It does not work like that: those nerf will not give you free dust if you own the cards that are going to be changed. You'll just get their full dust value if you disenchant them (instead of the regular dust value). So if you want to craft them to add them to your collection, you're not getting anything for free but just paying their normal price.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
There is no point in crafting beyond playing that cards till the patch hits. Dust spent crafting = Dust gain disenchanting post nerf.
As other user said this is not like the Hall of Fame rotation where you keep the card and still get the dust value.

I mean it literally has no drawback, you have 2 days to play with the full blown busted versions of the cards and then just make test them on the new meta for a week and dust them no matter what, if they end up being still usable just re-craft them again and, if not, well you played for them for almost 2 weeks and got no drawbacks or regrets as you got all your dust back, no risks at all.
The OP got the correct message it seems, so to restate for others reading:
If a card is nerfed, you have to dust the card during the period soon after the nerf to obtain the full dust value. You don't get to keep the card.
But it doesn't matter how or when you get the card: if you dust it during the period you get the full value back. You can craft it just before the nerf. You can craft it during the nerf. You can craft it, dust it, RECRAFT it, REDUST IT, and just do it over and over and over, full value at dusting. You can have 20 golden cards saved since the start of hearthstone and dust them ALL for full value.
And yes, if you open a pack with the card, and it's still the full dust period, you can dust it for full value.

You’re misleading. You make it sound like you get the full dust value WITHOUT dusting the nerf cards, but as was pointed above it only works this way for cards being moved to the Hall of Fame.
I'm not misleading, you people just need to work on your reading comprehension. "Refund" implies I'm returning something of value to get that currency back. Hall of Fame freebies are not "refunds"; that would be like going to the store with a faulty product I previously purchased, having them pay me while I keep the item and calling it a "refund"
What part of my post is implying that I don't need to dust the card for full value at the end of this?
The part where OP thanked you for your answer and still believed he would get free dust?
How other people cannot read is not part of my post. My post is perfectly coherent and there's nothing misleading about it. It's factually, grammatically and logically correct. It explains how you can abuse the system and lease out cards for a limited time, which no one else has mentioned before me. I do not know how I can possibly convey this concept any clearer
Seems I've misunderstood some of the answers. Since I can still get the full dust back, even if I will not own the card anymore, I don't see a problem.
I suggest everyone simply stops posting here since the questions are now answered.
I would imagine the main way to make any real profit from the nerf dustwise is if you have a golden version and are happy to downgrade to a normal one.
You could craft the normal version then after nerf get full price for the golden one.
Yes that is correct. If you craft a card that's going to get nerfed, you basically have a buyer's remorse period after the nerf. Keep the card if you like it or dust it for full refund.
For example its a good time for anyone whos never played Quest Rogue to try it for a bit. Infact I did this myself since I never unpacked the card or had a ton of interest in playing the deck, but it's free and I get some more experience.

Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
