Hello boys. There's something i want to discuss with you.
Some time ago Ben Brode said that if u have winrate below 50%, u will win more games until u have that 50%. So i wonder, when u hit rank 5 and u don't loose ur stars, can you concede like 500 games in a row to get your winrate percentage to like 10% and then play normally to get more wins. Feels like game abuse, but i'm sure that won't work. I could tried it myself, but i'm too lazy.
the matchmaking is finding someone with the same mmr, if you win two times your mmr is average, you will encounter other players that won 2 times before in priority, if you loose 500 times before you will encounter a looser the next time, but only the next time
As far as I am aware of Ben Brodes statements concerning mmr, the winrate is mainly used in casual and legend. For ranked, the mmr apparently consists of stars only.
Besides, you will not get free wins, but you will get matched against players with a mmr as close to you as possible. So even if ranked would consider winrate and you concede 500 times, you will just be matched with the worse players at rank 5+. Which are still better than the players at lower ranks. So maybe you could bump your winrate, but only a few percent.
Also, the game can't "gift" you wins to bring you back to 50%, because that would mean intentionally making other players lose which would be ridiculous.

P.S. Sorry for bad London
The main idea behind the '50% rate' is that hte game is trying to put you with people of a similar skill level/deck preference. If you play rank 2 decks with a rank 2 playstyle then you'll find yourself at rank 2 with other folks with rank 2 decks and rank 2 playstyles. If you find yourself bobbing up and down in the same rank then that's your proper rank given your chosen deck/playstyle. Note that MMR systems that use win/loss records to find matches aren't applied in the star rank system. Rank 5s are matched with rank 5s.
the floors ruin that actually. If you are at rank 5 and play a rank 20 deck you'll never be able to rank down, so you're stuck losing forever at rank 5. The game won't 'find bad players' to 'give you free wins' to force a 50% win rate. Thus the floor system is them moving away a bit from the 50% system. They hinted at this in an video a while back since they found that players don't like being 'stuck' at a rank with no growth or progression, which suggests that the system is working too well. That was around the time the floors were announced.
This is WHY forcefully manipulating the matchmaking system is a Bad Idea btw, because doing so creates opportunities for abuse such as what you said. If they DID do what folks accuse them of doing, you very much could force the system in this very way.
I am not 100% sure but MMR calculation only occurs in casual, Tavern Brawl and Legend (including your percentage of Legend allocation depending on your winrate to legend). In so far as getting easier games to legend I am under the impression that it is solely star dependent. Would be worth testing out but I am under the impression that it would not work!

Sub-legend ranked mode is NOT what people mean when they refer to MMR or the system "trying to get you to 50%." Ranked mode matches based on rank alone. This is why on the first day of the month you can either win or lose far more than 50% at rank 25.
Match-making rating, or MMR, is a hidden estimate of your skill, used in "casual" mode and at legend ranks, and does try to achieve a 50% likelihood of a win for each game.

Seems like this can do with some more clarity:
