Got sick of hearthstone tried many games only 1 game that standout , I thought i found a better game than hearthstone spend around $100 this game is call clash royale . Very fun indeed first few months after that nothing new , no new content poor game rewards , New content = 1 card released every few months and to max out a single card it cost few hundred USD . Finally went back to hearthstone and now completely stopped playing clash royale
That or the android has a very large collection of games that are either shitty or are a copy of another game and all of that is delivered to customers by a miserable app that downloads updates to itself whenever it wants, while highlighting most popular games even if they are really bad and people play them because they want to play a quick and relaxing game while they wait for something, so they don't expect intricated gameplay or thrilling story, while they want the game to be easy and creators of games see this, hence they continue to create awful games.
It depends if you don't count the great variety of AAA titles as the overpriced FF titles, but saying that you can play FFVII or FFVI in Android puts the line of "best games" really high ^^
The problem I've found in Android with H.Stone it's that it wastes a lot of resources and the fact that, every minor update (like the monthly card-back rewards) imply download the whole game again (more than 2GB) instead of a litttle 100-300 mb update like in pc.
Clash Royale isn't even similar to Hearthstone. I don't know how can you compare those two and I feel really sorry you spent 100$ for that stupid game. I would suggest you Elder Scrolls Legends. It's available on Android and it's similar to Hearthstone but with some improvements. If you love card games you could check out Eternal and Magic 2015 but it's not well optimized imo. Clash Royale is considered as a card game just because they called units you play cards. Nothing to do with cards and board game there really.
If you want to try another ccg on your smartphone you can try Shadowverse. It's similar to hearthstone in many aspects of the gameplay and is more f2p friendly. I'm not here to sposorize it (I still prefere Hearthstone), but it's definitely worth a try.

I have elder scrolls on my phone right now...
Xcom Enemy Within runs pretty well on my android devices. So I would say that is.
