You may be familiar with the thread about the legendary pity timers being reset a few months back. You would be guaranteed a legendary within 10 packs. I'm sure most of you have collected your legendary for each of the 4 standard sets (Classic, MSoG, Ungoro, KFT).
What you may not realize is that your golden Legendary timer has also been reset. It's a separate timer to normal legendaries.
Recent goldens for me:
Classic - Cho
MSoG - Wrathion
KFT - Valeera
I realized that I didn't open a golden for Ungoro. So I opened like 5 extra packs and... Golden Clutchmother!
I'm positive that you are guaranteed to get a golden Legendary early on for each set. It may be more than 10 packs though.
Admittedly, I know absolutely nothing about how golden card chance is calculated. But that just seems a bit too good to be true. Wouldn't the golden property be applied as a set chance to each card? Not its own chance? So if you get a legendary, whether from the pity timer or not, it checks independently if the card would be golden or not? I will say from experience, I've pulled only two golden legendaries ever: golden Clutchmother Zavas and golden Sunkeeper Tarim. Which are obviously both from Un'Goro. So from my experience, it doesn't seem that it's set based.
Honestly, I'm just talking out of my arse and going off how I think it works. For all I know (which is again, absolutely nothing), maybe you are guaranteed a golden legendary every...maybe 100 packs or something? I dunno.
Nope i have never gotten a golden legendary despite the 70+ packs i have oppend in the last two months let alone last 3 years feelsbadman. i have opend around 500 packs in my total time in hearthstone for reference

That'll be awesome if true. I've gotten two Golden Legendaries in my lifetime. A Golden Malkorok (Which I dusted for Shadowreaper Anduin) and a Golden Harrison Jones (Who is my baby boy and I love him so much.)
that sounds like luck, even if they did reset the theorical pity timer is too high on golden legendaries for it to appear in "a couple of packs"
If it were the case Reddit would already have the charts up showing the case, but again you can go 150+ packs without a golden, so you would need to know the actual pity timer and have actual data or over 200 packs per set to know if that was the case.
Nah there's no pity timer for golden legendaries. I've played since summer 2014 and through quest gold and playing a decent amount of games probably averaged earning 5 free packs per week. That's over 1000 free packs, more of you count promotional stuff, and none of them contained a golden legendary. Unless the pity timer is a rediculously high number... but if it is, what's the point?

If i recall correctly that pity timer is believed to be around or higher than 340 packs :/

Are you saying that jenkum and danklesminky are lying or have really, really bad memory?
Edit: oh, wait, but maybe there is a different pity timer for golden cards for each expansion.

Is that per expansion though? I always buy the packs for the latest expansion so I guess it's possible I haven't hit 340 classic packs yet

In all the time I had playing Hearthstone, I opened arroud 60+ packs of each expansion except TGT, and so far, no Golden Legendaries for me (yet). I think theese cards have no timer and it´s just pure luck, and seems like mine´s is very bad.
Purely anecdotal: during the pity timer "corrective leeway" sequence recently, i opened 3 to 5 packs for each of the five expansions and got 2 Legendaries + 2 Golden Legendaries. In my 2.5 years of HS hence, I only got a single Golden Legendary. That recent Thursday night of pack opening was quiiiiiiite the thrill ride, Mr. Golden Mayor Naggenfroggen.
LOL @ people that think there's a golden legendary pity timer. Sorry, but no, there is not.
Well there seems to be one for Golden Commons, Golden Rares and Golden Epics, so Golden Legendary should be there as well, the number is just so high that there aren't enough samples out there to be sure of the actual theorical number.

This does seem like it's more than a coincidence.

What are the odds of 4 Golden Legs in a few months? I opened less than 10 packs of MSoG and Ungoro.
I just realized I missed the Old Gods? Will open some packs and see if I get my 5th :)

I have no idea howmany packs I opened never ever seen a single golden legendary

You'll only get golden legendaries if you buy exactly 666 packs on tuesdays with full moon while sacrificing a burning sheep.
