I'm thinking that they are trying to spend more time finetuning the new cards so that it doesn't become too broken. It's probably better to wait longer for better quality cards than to rush them to create even more cancerous cards.
1. I believe Wizards and Blizzard have a non-written agreement to not step on each other's toes. This is only a guess based upon all previous expansions within both games.
2. The closer to release you spoil cards the more packs people will buy. They are depending on the hype to generate income.
no point really.. plain dumb 131 unreleased cards, less than 30 days to revel.. they had 45 days.. 3 cards on week days and you get interesting disscussion every day for a montha dn a half but MEH let's release them after 3 weeks...

Interesting discussion? More like a Bunch of people complaining about the same card either being OP or garbage
I think blizz is experimenting on a new format with releasing cards. In the past they started trickling new cards everyday, some were in a 1v1 voting fashion and then there's this big card dump near the release. this time they're reversing the process and I think they're going to compare the results through their sales with the past expansions. I think they're acting on the point/quote which brode once said as better to underpromise but overperform than vice-versa. I think this will be an awesome expansion overall.

Dunno I like looking at comments about cards, most of them are dumb (like people though that Madam Goya is "playable", and actually so many people supported her) still interesting none the less way better than nothing..
3 cards a day to keep some discussion going on..
But the real problem of the game is that the top meta decks use mostly year of the kraken cards (except reno) ATM so I don't see the meta will change unless the new cards powercreep the meta in an insane way..

This. Blizzard has gotten a lot of shit for not testing cards well enough recently(you know of whom I speak) and probably want to make sure that the cards are properly balanced before revealing them, as it would be a bit awkward to have to change a card after revealing it.
Dude seriously?... They are the people that made Jade Idol card, no wonder they can't organise themselves. Their plan in short; reveal 4 cards in 3 weeks and 131 card in the next 4 weeks. SeemsGood

Madam Goya meme decks appear to be at least somewhat viable, which is amusing. I'd say that qualifies as objectively playable, albeity meme-y as hell. :P
3 cards per day might be interesting, but I'm curious if this isn't a response to the fact people reacted poorly to the trickle reveals... and I'm not sure that would have alleviated that issue. Considering the current prediction is is April 6th because of Windows Clock shenanigans that means there would be 3 weeks from the reveal tomorrow and they could feasibly condense a lot more spoilers into each week.
And the meta is definitely going to change with this rotation, Shaman loses an absurd amount of tools and Dragons get retired. Druid is also arguably losing some major stuff with Azure Drake and Living Roots taking a trip to Wild. Tempo mage pretty much dies. Zoolock loses Imp Gang Boss and Power Overwhelming. Sylv and Rag will no longer be go-to legendaries to fill holes in a list with. Pirate Warrior loses Finley, which I'm of the opinion matters more than people realize it does, while the meta shifts back to something significantly more favorable for the Control decks that tend to prey on it. Power creep is pretty unlikely to be needed to change the meta, simply because some of the top decks lose enough pieces to be a lot weaker and most of them simply just lose the core cards that enable the archetypes in the first place.

I think we will see some changes. Dragon priest will be gone, renolock/mage gone (priest might survive though justicar really hurts by going WITH reno), freeze mage gone, miracle rogue will be gone (losing 6 core cards). Jade shaman will lose some of its tools, but I think it will be fine because they currently have so many. Paladin is losing 1 of the few good cards it has (keeper of uldaman). Pirate warrior will excel even more. Jade druid should be okay, living roots and brann are only 2 big losses i believe (edit: forgot drake).
Thank god i actually prefer wild right now so I don't have to fully experience the shit storm that standard will likely become.

Jade druid and pirate warrior are the stuff that worry me I hate those 2 decks they feel so bad to play against and not so fun to play as either terrible design in gadgetzan..
@DoubleSummon; I realize Jade and Pirate Warrior are people's concern at this point, but those lists are still losing things that make them better currently and we have no idea what new stuff we're getting. In the case of Jade Druid it's moot because all we need is viable aggro/midrange to actually make people realize it's still not very good, especially after losing Azure Drake (post nerf vS still has it pegged at Tier 3). In the case of Pirate Warrior, we just need the slew of decks hostile to Control Warrior to go away. Things like Dragon Priest and Reno decks are eating typical Control's lunch more than anything, because Kazakus shenanigans are extremely effective in that matchup.
Regardless of how good/bad the designs were, those lists are going to be significantly less relevant than they are today I imagine. And if Pirate Warrior stays this strong odds are it's probably headed to nerftown one more time.

Even when the packs say the expansion launches in mid-April, it's pretty likely that the expansion will be released the first week of April (hopefully). Source: here. This may be confirmed tomorrow.
I think they are trying a different approach this time, with a shorter spoiler season. Revealing the cards being this closer to the launch date may prevent us from figuring the top tier decks too soon (or it may not) and will help keeping the hype up in a short period of time rather than having the hype dying due to a long wait.
Game's probably at an all-time worst right now, but they still haven't started the expansion hype. Any point to waiting this long?

They've been hyping up the hype for two weeks now.
