Recently a thought came to my mind. Have you considered how the introduction of Standard might influent the creation of new classes in Hearthstone? Let's consider a couple factors:
Before the introduction of standards, the biggest argument against new classes was that after several expansions there would be too many class cards for Blizzard to introduce to make the class balanced and comparable with the others. It used to be a huge obstacle that seemed impossible to avoid. However, with the introduction of Standard, the addition of new classes to HS might actually be more realistic than ever.
To be honest, whenever Blizzard decides that they want to put ex. Death Knight into the game, they might just introduce his basic and expert sets and the cards from the new expansion the class comes with and they're good to go. He would probably lack quite a few cards for an expansion or two, but after a full season everything would even out.
I know that wouldn't really solve the problem of DK's (or any other new classes for that matter) lack of cards in Wild and Arena, but let's face it - complete balance and fairness probably isn't the biggest idea behind these modes anyway. The best option would be to simply introduce decent class cards that would be happily picked in many decks - quality over quantity.
What do you think guys? Could new classes actually become a thing within a few expansions? Or do you believe that this subject is far more complex than that?
Imo i think it would be beter to give the existing classes a second Hero Power choice or maybe 3 like Talent tree in warcraft. They basic set and hero powers will restrict standard hard.
There should be ways to build more diverse. New classes are only swag and I feel choice between Hero powers would be a way better addition to this game but only my opinion.

No, they would not be good to go. If they r gonna treat Wild as an equal format (and all information so far suggest this to be true, even tho ppl doesnt think so), they cant simply make "just half of a class" and discard cards from previous adventures/expansions, that other classes have availible. They might add a new class which will be stated is "strictly for Normal format", but at this point, it seems like very unlikely scenario. BTW all these kind of discussions r kinda pointless, untill we get some real info on how the game is goin to look like in couple months, but im not sayin dont talk about it, just it doesnt seem very productive right now :)
Guys? I keep reading "If there will be a new class in Hearthstone it has to have the exact same number of cards as existing classes for Basic / Naxx / GvG / BRM and so on"
This is just a fan-made rule for fan-made classes.
So far Blizz has stated that there won't be new classes. If there ever are any (and I wouldn't get my hopes up for the next 2 years) then they can pretty much do whatever they like. And really, since you can never put more than 30 cards in a deck anyway, it's not that relevant how many total cards the class has, as long as it has enough competitive cards. A class with 100 trash cards isn't better than one with only 5.
Hello everone,

Sure it would make the new class fine for Standard, but then the class wouldn't have the card pool to compete in the Wild format.
I feel that to be fair to both formats you'd have to release cards to in the same quantity and variety of cards as the other classes have.
This fact makes it unlikely that Blizzard would release a new class :(
Predominantly an Arena player.. But Ranked is fun too... Sometimes.. When Secret Paladins don't ruin your day!

Just my 2 cents, but I don't feel new classes will be coming to HS, even after Standard comes.
There's already a fair amount of diversity with 9 classes...
Same goes for alternate hero powers. I honestly don't see them coming anytime. Maybe I'm wrong but I hope I'm not.

They will never add new classes
