Hi, I have been playing Hearthstone for about a year now and I recently got enough dust to craft 2 Legendary Cards (3200 Dust). And I also have 600 gold laying around. But I have no unlocked adventures.
This is why I hate adventures , just to get a card you need to get use so much gold especially if the wing contain a lot of cards you are not planning to use.
For Oil Rogue, Tomb Pillager isn't necessary-he's really only ran in the new miracle rogue, so that could save you some gold or money. If you watch Mr. Yagut (arguably one of the best Rogue players around) he runs a pretty solid list. Are you looking to craft the traditional handlock with Brann or a Renolock?
Oh, okay. Thanks phoenixrises84. I'll give Mr. Yagut a watch or two, when I get around to it. I might consider watching him more, if I like him. At the moment, I am considering crafting the traditional Handlock with Brann because it requires less cards.
@KoalaBearHS I personally have no experience with Oil rogue, so I can't make an accurate judgement as to what is more fun - Handlock VS Oil rogue. The only experience I have in regards to the two decks are my semi-completed Handlock deck using the cards that I have at my disposal. And so far, its been pretty fun. A couple of seasons ago, I managed to get rank 14-15 with it. The only reason why I am even considering Oil rogue is because TempoStorm ranks it higher than the Demon Handlock deck. And because yesterday I recently opened a pack with a single Preparation card in it.
@Yandai I get what you're getting at. I am no where near what it takes to complete these two decks with where I stand now, but at least I can try to get there. For the next few months, I'll just save up gold and start doing adventures. It can't be that difficult, can it? I heard that I can get around 700 gold a week, if I am lucky. What do you think?
I play Renolock recently (withoutMal'Ganis, Lord Jaraxxus, any gaint) with Adventure Legendaries and minions and get into rank 13, so gold spent in adventure is pretty worth.
You can get 100 gold with in play mode plus at least 40 gold from quest, with large play time you certainly can get 700 gold a week. I get full LOE about 2 month because I just play 1 or 2 hours per days.
I crafted the two preps I needed and I played a lot of rogue but maybe 4 months later of not touching the class I caved and disenchanted my rogue cards for aggro druid cards, and it was way worth it. I own all handlock cards as well and I still love handlock even after playing it forever, it never gets old for me, I'd recommend handlock cards, though straight up handlock probably isn't very strong right now because of all the secret paladins, shamans, and hunters.
@feudy Oh. Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience(s). I think I know what I want to do now. I've decided to craft Mal'Ganis and Lord Jarraxus with the 3200 dust that I have been saving up for the past year or so. Moreover, save up gold for the rest of the adventure modes that I need to complete the deck. I hear what you're saying. But I'm sure in a few more seasons, it'll get better for the Handlock. Hopefully.
I personally dislike oil. It's a skill intensive deck as bad decisions will punish you harshly. Handlock is also quite demanding in terms of strategy, but way less... it is however not very good right now.
I don't know how your collection is looking like, but maybe you should consider going for cheaper decks? Zoo has nice value, for example.
On the adventures thing... it really is worth more than just the cards you get. It is fun to beat the bosses. LoE was actually the best adventure so far in terms of fun, hands down. However is is widely agreed that Naxx still nets you more when it comes to the cards you unlock. Take your time to figure what cards will help you most and make your decision, and don't be afraid to dive into the adventures, it's worth it.
Huh? Are you sure you need all these cards? It looks to me as if you haven't really tried to find cheaper versions of these decks that run with the cards you have.
For Oil Rogue variants, need that second Blade Flurry and the SI:7 Agent, desperately. Loatheb and Sludge Belcher can be unlocked from Naxx and are very versatile, so just get them. The rest... Really? Thalnos is good but a Loot Hoarder will do when you start out learning the deck. VanCleef is optional. The Violet Teacher can be replaced with a Shredder. Tomb Pillager shouldn't show up in pre-LOE lists. Most decks should also work without the second Prep, just double up on some other card.
Handlock I have less experience with, but some lists don't run Mal'Ganis, which also removes the need for Voidcallers. Brann seems out of place in Handlock to me, what do you use him on except Twilight Drakes and maybe Defender of Argus? Ok, maybe Healbot. Jaraxxus is a finisher, just use Ragnaros, Ysera or other big late-game legendaries, whatever you have. Sludge Belchers can be replaced with Sen'Jins until you unlock them from Naxx. I don't see how Thaurissan is required in that deck either, since all your giants have other ways to get cheaper, but then he's in BRM wing 1 which you'll want anyway. BGH - well, you'll want one sooner or later anyway, but he's a tech card. Leave him out and only craft one if you keep losing games because of lack of removal for big stuff. There are many matchups where he's useless (Face Hunter, Zoo...).
So... I count 200 dust to play Oil Rogue, plus 1400 gold for Naxx 1/2.
Handlock you can build already, although he'd get better if you invest in Jaraxxus and BGH (2000 dust) and unlock Naxx 1/2 and BRM 1 (2100 gold).
@spitfire_x84 Oh. I didn't know that about the demon handlock. Good thing I decided to go with the demon handlock, then. At the moment, I have little to no experience with oil rogue so I couldn't say which I like more. But playing with the cards that I have now, I would say that I like the demon handlock play style better. Thanks for your thoughts =)
@Aether_lackey That's cool. Yeah, I heard that a lot about the oil rogue. So, I guess if I had went the oil rogue route then I would have had a pretty miserable time laddering because I would be essentially a noob at playing the deck and as a result be making tons of misplays... In regards to what you're saying about the Handlock deck, I can see that to be true. But do you think that I can become better/good in the next few seasons or so? I hope so because I just sank 3200 dust on both Jaraxxus and Mal'Ganis.
As far as my collection goes, I think I have a decent amount of cards to work with. You can check it out yourself on my hearthpwn profile but it isn't up-to-date because I uninstalled the innkeeper application a while ago. But you can get a rough estimate as to what I have. And as of right now, I have not looked into cheaper decks. Its unfortunate but I don't know what else to tell you. Part of the appeal of choosing Oil Rogue or Handlock is because for oil rogue I opened a Preparation card during Christmas and for Handlock I opened x2 Twilight Drakes, x2 Mountain Giants, x2 Sunfury Protectors, x2 Defender of Arguses, x2 Darkbombs, x1 Shadowflame, and x1 Doomguard.
Oh, okay. Yeah, I believe that too about the adventures. I bet it is just as challenging to beat as it is fun, though. I also agree with you in regards to LoE, as well. I saw Day9TV and Kripparrian and Reynad27 and even WoWHobbs play a few LoE adventures and they seem to like it a lot. The boss mechanics seem fun, too. I especially like the mine cart stage. Yeah, I also heard that a lot about Naxx, as well. Alright, will do. For my first adventure to unlock, I unlocked the first wing of BRM for Emperor Thaurissan because it was the first legendary card that I could get right away that was included in the TempoStorm Demon Handlock deck list for the current meta/season.
Thanks for your feedback. It was/is much appreciated.
It depends on what you like, I prefer Warlock because the class is just so much fun and I think all of his decks are pretty competitive, even the forgotten zoo. If you want to play Handlock I suggest you to build a Renolock, which is currently the best Warlock deck.
Rogue on the other hand has gained so much value after LoE....I will definitely try it some day.

Warlock gained even more. They're just pushing Rogues to build decks that has more minions than spells. It's good in a deckbuilding perspective. But isn't so impactful as to changing Rogue. Mill Rogue got so much better though.
Warlock on the other hand gets Reno, gets Brann, gets Dark Peddler, gets Reliquary Seeker (which is actually good after some playing), to enhance their existing decks.
Handlock for sure, oil rogue is solely dependant on card draw and combos, like others have said, it's not consistent. It's actually pretty repetitive. Handlock is also a bit more flexible in respect to the deck contents. There is more room to play around with trying other cards out. Oil has a large base mechanic for it to work properly, doesn't leave much room for experimentation.

Yeah, I completely agree.

I am your father.
just go for the deck you can get more fun Kappa
Handlock is more consistent
Oil rogue is required too much skills for me
RNG love me Kappa

@KoalaBearHS That's impressive. I guess I should stop opening packs for a while and start saving for the adventures. Thanks for the info.
Cool. I never knew that doing play mode could yield that much gold. PogChamp
Alright. I'll aim for 700 gold a week then. It'll take me a while to get all the desired cards but like you said - it'll be worth it.
That's awesome. Two months for the whole adventure of LoE. That doesn't seem all that bad.
Hm, one or two hours a day isn't all that bad either. I think I could manage that, too. Thanks again, KoalaBearHS.

I'll say Warlock for consistency. Almost any decent Warlock build are consistent. Because Life Tap.
Rogues can be a little tricky with so much heals and taunts going around.
