So I have been romancing with the Elemental Mage idea and came up with something... Although being an utter Hearthstone rookie myself, I am not quite sure if it actually has the punch necessary to be viable in the current Bomb Warrior, Token Druid and Murloc Shaman meta.
So to anyone more experienced in the game mechanics, does it have enough punch to be competitive? As in, I am not talking Rankeds, just Standard games. I don't want to be on a losing streak just because the other decks have much higher tempo and value potential. Are there any glarring flaws I could possibly fix?
The idea is to develop into the board with Water and Bonefire Elementals. Cosmic Anomaly, Azerite Elemental and Celestial Emissary can offer some good board clear when paired with Shooting Star. Same goes for Arcanosaur, but it requires an Elemental being played on previous turn. I am honestly thinking of grabbing Arcane Explosion or perhaps Cone of Cold instead of Frostbolt for one more counter to wide plays.
I have been considering to include Cyclone Elemental, but there are not enough low cost spells for its battlecry. I usually managed to generate between one and three spells. I also went for Sea Giant over Mountain because of the need to continuously maintain board presence, hence lower hand size.
EDIT: I am also waiting for Stargazer Luna and Jan'Alai, the Dragonhawk to potentially add to the deck. Draw is kind of poor, hence Luna. And dealing 8 damage with Hero Power for a Ragnaros is not too hard to achive and the minion is quite powerful. It is just a shame it does not trigger the "If you played an elemental..." combos.

So here is the idea: Linky the Link
