I’ll be teaching somebody to play and was trying to come up with a handful of deck lists that showcase each class of 3-5 different classes differences but try and keep them fair against each other. I was hoping to use basic cards mostly with a little other stuff I had thrown in to help put in a little flair for a new player, everybody likes drawing a big legend or epic. I have quite a few mage cards for a control/burn deck and I was going to teach Warlock with a simple zoo build to teach that cards are better than life in most situations, which was a big hurdle for me to get over when I played Mtg years ago.
Any list ideas for Warrior? I feel like it’s a very unique deck to this game. Any other lists would help a whole lot. I opened an legend and have a few epics I wouldn’t mind dusting, because this is all for somebody close to me and I want to use this as a way to help talk to them and entertain them in an upcoming hospital stay.
For warrior I don’t have much. I built the premade Classic Warrior deck with a few changes, and lack of garrosh he’ll scream, to showcase just a few different features of the class. And I substituted Armani berserker for red band wasp which seems to be strictly better.
Redband wasp is not strictly better than armani bersker; they have slightly different effects and strengths. I'm not arguing that armani berskerker is better, but one card has more attack, making trading more favourable off the bat, whereas the other has rush but one less attack, which most of the time won't be useful since it won't manage to survive a trade and make use of the enrage unless you're going up against aggro. Just wanted to point that out, although I agree in most decks that would, for instance, play viscious fledgeling, redband wasp is better.
As to your topic, look up budget/ f2p decks that are meant help new players. These decks are as powerful as they can be without being too expensive, so they probably illustrate points on different aspects of the game (e.g. tempo, aggro) without going overboard on using the nichest and most powerful cards. Budget tempo rogue illustrates tempo the best, budget murloc pally illustrates aggro, midrange hunter shows illustrates the midrange game, priest and warrior for control, mage for burn, etc.
