I would've posted this in the Shaman class forums, but I'd like to get more peoples opinions on it then just the people in there. I made most of these cards for fun, and they're sort of part of an expansion I'm engineering. I decided to try and fix the Shaman classes problems and also added some cards for fun. Things to note: They're not supposed to be lore friendly, nor are they balanced. There's a reason I'm not a game balance dev. Anyway, I made four spells, a weapon, and seven minions. The spells are based on the Elemental lords, the Minions are Shaman related, and have to do with Shaman things or Elemental things, and the weapon is based on elemental stuff as well (the weapon is Sulfuras).
Here's all of the cards in the thread if you don't like clicking on random links:
My favorite card there: Call of the Tidehunter, for sure.
Most potentially broken card: Call of the Earthmother.
NOTES:
-Novice Shaman gives you a card from the Hero Power and from Tauren Shaman.
-Call of the Firelord gives you any minion from Molten Core (Fire Elemental, Core Rager, Core hound, Flamewaker, etc.,)
-Call of the Tidehunter on something with more than 7 mana cost will just fill the remaining board space with Murlocs.
-Tauren Shaman can bring out ANY totem, including Mana Tide, Vitality, Fire Nova, and any of the HP totems even if you already have a copy of one on the board.
I love the theme of the "call of the [elemental] lord" cards. I think some balance and wording changes could be made to them though. I actually think call of the stonemother is underpowered. The overload could be removed and it would be fine. If you compare it to ancient of war, a 5 mana 5/5 with an ability is kinda standard (loatheb, dragon consort etc) and for +2 mana you get the +5 health and taunt or +5 attack. So I think call of the stonemother could even cost 2 mana and be acceptable. The buff is still weak to silence and the black knight.
Call of the tidehunter looks fun (and could combo so well with old murk eye!). Would you consider this as an alternative wording "Destroy an enemy minion and summon 1/1 murlocs equal to the mana cost of that minion for your opponent"? Is that what you meant?
I think call of the windlord is good too and probably doesn't need the overload also, unless if you add the taunt buff. (Hand of Protection + Windfury = 3 mana)
Hand of the firelord is the only one I think is bad, but only because the effect can take many turns to pay dividends, like gang up. I think it would be much better if it added 2 molten core cards to your hand so it is comparable to Thoughsteal. Then its a good card, although it would suck if you got 2 magma ragers. Could you get two Ragnaroses or 2 Fire elementals from this card?
I am really pleased that you made Sulfuras and it is a neat idea. I actually think Shaman needs a card like that, even if I think some of the numbers need adjusting (I would reduce the durability by 1 or 2).
I think novice shaman is maybe overpowered, even if most of the time it is a 3 mana cycle that summons a totem. If it were a card, it would also limit design space for totem generating cards. Whenever you play a totem could make the card interesting, especially as more totems are added to the game.
All in all, I like your ideas and its always nice to see people thinking about how to make shaman better!
