Hello everyone! My name is Logan Apple, an aspiring game developer/designer. I love making games; I've been publishing titles to Apple's appstore since I was 12 and, last year, got a game through Steam Greenlight and onto Steam itself. Some of you might know me from the HearthPwn fan competitions to which I regularly submit cards! I'm trying to get an internship at Blizzard to be part of the amazing Hearthstone team, so I'm asking for your help.
Below is a list of my top cards -- as rated by popularity on Hearthcards and /r/CustomHearthstone. I want your opinions on which would be the best to submit to Blizzard as part of my application. Thank you in advance for any feedback and advice!
They're all really good cards: nor OP by themselves neither impossibile to run in a high tier deck! Great Job. In my opinion you should submit Dramatic Reveal (Hearthstone and RNG are the two faces of the same coin, so why not?) and, based on my personal likings, Injured Caster.

These are all really cool, nice work. Only change I would make is to the name of the Soulstealer's token. The design is great, but the name seems a little boring.
Honestly, all of these cards are pretty cool. My favorite is Tree of Possibilities (although the complaint of rise of Druidstone may be a problem) I imagine it also having issues with Fandral Staghelm interactions. Additionally, it may become a LOT of work to implement (as they would have to add new cards for transform minions like Druid of the claw: one for 4/8 with taunt, and other stuff).
Ultimate Sacrifice has the issue with being to situational (and also stats are different). In this sense, Bite gives a Druid +4 Attack and +4 armor. This card, for 2 more mana doubles that amount and causes enemies to basically die attack your hero (so health costing board clear). But you also get to attack the opponent's face afterwards, and I think this would be dangerous.
I like Kobold Soulstealer, but I think Blizzard just wouldn't want to print a card like "Soul" where its a spell that sits in your hand which is the target of discard.
Finally, Voidling also messes with drawing at start of turn (and is a stealth ramp minion) which I image they wouldn't really care for. All the other ones I can see being a Blizzard card some time in a the future though!
Some great ideas! I think Tree of Possibilities, Kobold Soulstealer, and Balanced Monk are the best. I think each card has some great applications for submission!
For Tree of Possibilities, there are so many cool things you can do. Like using Power of the Wild to summon a 3/2 Panther and then making it a 4/3. Or maybe you wanna summon two 3/2 minions if you don't have any minions to buff! It's also interesting to think that Ancient of Lore can basically become "pre-nerf" and draw you two cards again. Of course, this doesn't work with transform effects, but it's still in interesting concept. Well done with this one! Make it cost more mana and it's quite the design!
For Kobold Soulstealer, it's nice to see that people still believe that Discard Warlock can still be a thing. I do too! The main problem with Discard Warlock is the fact that it's too random. This card is a step in the right direction to to cut out that negativity. Another card well done. The fact that the discard-able card you get when killing a minion is called "Soul" is great flavor. I see you have a knack for flavor with cards like Dramatic Reveal.
For Balanced Monk, I think this is the best you have in this post! What I like about this card is that it's great for new players. I remember when when I unpacked a Lightspawn on my first day of playing Hearthstone and I was so compelled to make a deck that revolved around it's effect. With this card, it supports the idea of trying all the classes on your first few days. You can damage it with Warrior, heal it with Paladin, buff it with Priest, play Hellfire and then use the damage Balanced Monk took to hit for 3, and probably more! It's a great way to start new players off and the flavor is spot on.
Careful of Injured Caster as Tree of Life might be an issue for it!
These are all great ideas and I applaud you! You have a great idea of what Hearthstone needs and an eye for flavor. Keep it up and I hope you get what you're looking for. It would be very well deserved!
I also suggest not to submit Vengeful Target Dummy. I mean it's a really interesting card, with an amazing reference and adaptation to its new flavor (both name and picture fit the effect: really good taste), but with the introduction of the keyword Magnetism it should be more than a rare card and also have a higher cost by 1 (magnetize it with some high health minions and Beryllium Nullifier in a warrior deck and it would be a tier 2 deck or so)
Thank you everyone for your feedback so far! To clarify one point: Soul would be a token of Kobold Soulstealer, not a card on its own -- though perhaps it could be. Also, quick question: Would Vengeful Target Dummy be better if its mana cost was increased to 2 from 1?
I really like Voidling! The idea to skip your draw in warlock looks an interesting design since you're getting a big minion on board but you have to lose 2 mana and 2 life to life tap if you need some more fuel.
All the other cards are also really interesting! Good job and good luck for your project!
Give a paragraph or 2 explanation on each card about why it's balanced or why it isn't, why it works or why it doesn't, how it fits or breaks the meta, etc. Additionally, submit any works of "meta discussions." I'm not a Blizz employee, but analytical works of their cards would be good. Maintaining game balance overall is a science and with analysis of cards, before and after their reveal, you can make a great impression.

I'm Nate and I enjoy writing. I got kicked off of my school newspaper so I figured I'd bring my passion to my favorite game.
The production value of these cards is impressive. The creativity of the effects is exactly what the game needs right now. Balanced Monk is my favorite. The effect of Voidling (and the art) incredible, fits warlock so well. I look forward to seeing what your developer card looks like. Good luck.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Damn dude, I like every single card you've designed. I LOVE the flavours of Dramatic Reveal, Ultimate Sacrifice and Balanced Monk. It has to be one of those 3, and I think Balanced Monk has to edge it out over the others because you just nailed it. However, like the others said, submit the lot. I'm really impressed by how balanced they all are, so maybe just headline with the monk to add more cleverness to your application/submission.
Bravo!

I wasn't planning on going for a run today. But those cops came out of nowhere.
Balanced Monk is by far by favourite in terms of design. Reason being is that I always played a healer on World of Warcraft, Druid, never played a Monk but I always loved the idea of 'stagger' and this mechanic sort of gives me that vibe. I think Vengeful Target Dummy is a good design but maybe the cost should be increased a little, considering that this is almost guaranteed to trade and kill off whatever is played on the other side in most situations.
Tree of Possibilities: "Draw a Choose One card ..." otherwise seems good.
Vengeful Target Dummy: good one!
Balanced Monk: interesting, but a bit meh (tho that is not a bad thing in this case).
Ultimate Sacrifice: this card actually looks super busted, it would be a very easy board clear and/or finisher. First of all, you can manipulate the board state with other cards/minions to set up this card and second, you can be in a winning position and go face for 8 dmg. This card should cost 7 mana and give only 6 attack imho.
Kobold Soulstealer: seems good, btw tokens dont have rarity gems, just a small fix :)
Injured Caster: if this was a dragon, i think it would fit in a dragon priest very nicely.
Voidling: not sure if the tradeoff is worth it, also mby a tiiiiiiny bit complex if we think about interactions with card draw, mby complex is not the right word, but something just doesnt feel right about this one.
Dramatic Reveal: this one is pretty cool, not sure about the cost tho, especially since Preparation is a thing, mby at least 5.
I guess i like the Dramatic Reveal and Vengeful Target Dummy the most. I mean all cards r solid, but these two stand out to me. Anyway, GL with the application :)

I agree, Soul could have a text changed into something like "Whenever you discard a card this turn, discard this instead." to be more acceptable. I also agree with someone who mentioned the card name "Soul" seems a bit boring...I do like the card design tho.
My favourites gotta be Dramatic Reveal (pretty cool albeit probably too hard to ever play in a competitive deck, also overshadowed by the Shaman legendary spell now I guess...), Balanced Monk and Ultimate Sacrifice...artwork on all cards is great too :)
Why doesn't Blizzard just steal community card ideas like your own I have no idea? There really is no excuse for us getting bland, vanilla, semi-reprints and overly simple cards this late into the game's life cycle.
Good luck with you application, all your ideas look great to me. I especially like dramatic reveal and balanced monk, nice flavour.
