Death Knights are arguably one of the most recognizable classes in World of Warcraft. It also is very unique in flavor and gameplay. What if it was transferred to Hearthstone? Well, here's my concept!
Who's a more fitting character than Arthas Menethil?
The Alternate Hero, Koltira Deathweaver, is unlocked through a special Achievement! These, which would be added whenever, would be viewable by clicking on a tab off of the side of the Quests button. I'll have a list of achievements at the BOTTOM of the thread, and potentially in an entirely new thread at some point.
Death Knights have a specific playstyle, revolving around VALUE. Not only are the cards packed with it, but even though most are late-game cards, the early-game ones are still strong.
Jaina: I couldn't forget you. -OR- Uther: I see.... Your plan.
All other responses to cards are the same as in the Adventure boss.
Greetings: You dare challenge me? Come, then.
Wow: Truly amazing.
Thanks: I thank you, from the bottom of my- oh, forget that.
Sorry: My mistake, I suppose.
Threaten: Frostmourne hungers.
Well Played: A remarkable maneuver.
Oops: Alas, an error.
Attacking: Die!
Thinking:
How shall I.... Hrm.
Where do I begin?
Perhaps I will.... No.
Considering that.... Hrmmm.
Out of Time: The clock ticks.
Arena Selection: You've made a grave mistake.
Concede: You... Have... Already... Lost...
ACQUISITION:
As you likely know, each Class requires you to beat a mediocre at best boss to unlock. However, with Arthas, it's slightly more In-Depth. In fact, you have to do four whole encounters to unlock him, BUT there is an additional prize at the end.
Kel'Thuzad: Of course he played well, he's Kel'Thu-freaking-zad!
Boss 2: Stratholme
Stratholme doesn't have a deck, but it doesn't fatigue either. The way the fight works is you simply have to beat down the Citizens and damage Stratholme.
Emotes
Start
Arthas: This entire city must be purged.
Stratholme: <Screaming.>
Emote Rebuttal
<Screaming.>
Death
<The screaming ends.>
Boss 3: Mal'Ganis
When the fight starts, Arthas equips Frostmourne (see the Classic Set) and starts with a four 2/2 Silver Hand Recruits. To combat this, Mal'ganis starts at a hefty 10 Mana and 9 Cards. Ouch!
2x Cult Master (When he plays them, he says "Oh, they started a CULT around me. How FORTUNATE." Then, he summons two of the Stratholme Citizens from the last fight.
Mal'ganis: It is too late. You've become a pawn of the Lich King.
Arthas: ....
<When the victory screen plays, Arthas slowly turns into his Death Knight form.>
Boss 4: Terenas Menethil
Against Terenas Menethil, your hero becomes fully corrupt. You are now cursed by Frostmourne, and have become the greatest Death Knight ever created. This means your deck changes, too! You become the NEW Arthas Menethil, with his Hero Power too. You also start with Frostmourne (see the Classic Set). To combat this, much like the last fight, Terenas starts at (3) Mana. To combat THIS, and as a testament of Strength, Arthas' cards cost (2) less.
3x Packs from EVERY expansion, only containing Death Knight cards

Basic Set:
Classic Set:
Each of the pre-existing 8 Death Knight cards have been reworked in some way, making them fit into the Death Knight's arsenal and also be balanced.
Naxxramas Set:
Goblins vs Gnomes Set:
I feel the need to clarify with Recycl-o-Tron 9000:
When a friendly minion dies, if it isn't a Mech, you gain a Mech. However, if it was a Mech that died, you add a Spare Part to your hand. This means this card can fit into a NON-Mech deck, since its effect is already really strong.
Blackrock Mountain Set:
The Grand Tournament Set:
League of Explorers Set:
Whispers of the Old Gods Set:
I'm going to reword Frost Strike soon - the way it's written, it doesn't make much sense. It should be "Deal 3 damage, then cast a random Plague from your hand." That way, you can not only deal 3 damage, but get a free Plague cast.
One Night in Karazhan Set:
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Set:
Journey to Un'Goro Set:
Cards for my custom sets will be released eventually - Including Class Compendiums, The Fate of Azeroth, Legacy of the Warlords, Secrets of Ulduar, Venture into the Mists, and The Empire of the Hakkari (I realized Servitors of the Loa was already used - I'm a dumbass, and I might scrap this entirely). Speaking of which.... Expect Class Compendiums to receive the Death Knight by 9/10/2017!
Achievements:
Not every achievement would be listed in this, these are just some ideas.
The so-called Collector Card Back is simply a version of the Classic Card Back, with more animation to it. It's also more flashy in general.
You might be wondering, "What the fuck are Enchanted Hero Portraits?" Well, they're even cooler Golden Hero Portraits. They have special effects, but can be toggled:
Mage - Arcane Magic can be seen circling the base of the Hero. The base also has a pulsing blue line spanning the middle of it. For Khadgar and Medivh, a raven also sits at the corner of the hero.
Shaman - The board around the base of the Hero is charred, with magma seeping through it. The base of the Hero is also cracked, with magma seeping through the cracks. For Morgl, this is water instead.
Hunter - To the left and right of the hero, there are wooden spikes with leaves and vines inbetween and connecting them. For Alleria, there is a special animation where using the Hero Power shows a crossbow in front of the hero, which shoots at the enemy hero.
Priest - There are feathered wings on either side of the hero, and they have a golden aura. A sun can also be seen in front of the hero, glowing. For Tyrande, the sun is instead a moon and the wings become leaves, with a silver aura.
Warlock - The hero levitates above the base, as if it's constantly ready to attack, albeit much lower. Underneath it is fel, with demonic runes lining the base of the hero.
Paladin - The base of the hero is modeled as a shield, with a sword going through the middle. For Liadrin, it is instead a hammer, and for Arthas, there is also a symbol of Lordaeron on the head of the hammer.
Warrior - The base of the hero is lined with blood, and having a glowing red aura emanating from the sides. For Magni, the aura is replaced with crystalline spikes.
Druid - The base of the hero has claw marks, which are silvery, while also having a unique mechanic. When the hero has attack, it displays as a Feral Druid in Cat Form, and while it only has Armor or has Armor on your opponent's turn, it displays as a Guardian Druid in Bear Form.
Rogue - The area between the hero and the base of the hero is covered in smoke, with daggers also thrown around the portrait. For Maiev, the daggers aren't there, but are instead replaced with Umbra Crescents.
Death Knight - The area around the hero is covered with frost, which also touches the edge of the hero. For ???, there are also bones littered around the edge and they are surrounded by an unholy green aura.
Firstly I'd like to congratulate you on an excellently thought out idea, I had a fun half an hour thinking of potential synergies or decks. This leads me to certain hiccups, especially for aggro, though you suggest some good solutions the fundamental lack of vanilla or synergistic class draw would be a major problem (discounting the insane synergy with Cult Master), therefore might I suggest, 3 Mana Spell 'Draw a card for each ghoul in play.' or something like that. Control on the other hand feels better rounded as there are more supportive neutral cards, like Doomsayer and Stonehill Defender (high chance to get Lich King) amongst others, in combination with the life drain and control tools (freezes and clears). However due to the fact that this means the late game could be (relatively) easily reached, I had hoped that there would be some C'Thun synergy cards, that being said, I took the opportunity to brainstorm and I came up with 8 Mana 5/9 'Taunt. Deathrattle: For each Ghoul that has died this game, add +1/+1 to C'thun (wherever it is). And a possible reward 5 Mana 4/5 'Battlecry: If your C'thun has more than 10 Attack, Cast Festering Wound on all enemy minions.' One question though, would the '3/3 Abomination' have the same DR as the Abomination all-ready in the game? Finally I would like to apologise for rambling and reiterate my congratulations on a well though out (reasonably) balanced nicely flavoured class idea. Good job!
