Pyros isn't that bad, but in terms of the Phoenix flavor it really bothered me that it didn't get reborn from the ashes and become the 2/2 version again. So I've made my own version :D
The first two cards are the same as in game... I changed the 10/10 and made the dormant token. Hope you like!
I feel like Pyros could have had a battlecry with each incarnation you play, kinda like an escalating ravaging ghoul. 2/2 pyros would explode for 1 are when played, 6/6 maybe 3 damage and so on. That would have been cool Imo

Sounds interesting, but I imagine there's no room on the card for such a thing... the deathrattle is pretty verbose xD

That would have been cool, but the stats would have to be lowered to balance it.
That would have been cool, thematically, but would have fit in weird with elemental mage decks. I think the 10 mana pyros should have had a "if you played an elemental last turn" effect. Maybe, if you played one last turn you get a 2/2 pyros again?

Oh yeah, I think Pyros would have been better if it started as a 2-cost 2/2, that went to a 3-cost 3/3, then 4-cost 4/4... etc. That way, it would trigger as an elemental MUCH more often. Unfortunately, it would be OPAF in arena.

I really like your concept, it makes a lot more sense than the corpse flower revival as well.
I've always thought that the better version of Pyros would've been "(2) mana 2/2: Deathrattle: return Pyros to your hand as a 6/6 that costs (6)" and then would've changed into "(6) Mana 6/6: If you played an elemental last turn, this minion cost (2) less. Deathrattle: Return Pyros to your hand as a 10/10 that costs (10)" and the 10 mana version should've been "(10) mana 10/10: If you played an elemental last turn, this minion cost (2) less... etc. etc."
Unless all forms would have the same battlecry, the card text would probably become too complicated. Some of us still strugle with more than 9 deck slots :P.
Let's just be grateful that mage got a playable legendary.

I like the idea! Pyros is a really cool card, and I wish it was playable.
Personally, I'd just make it a 5 mana 6/6 and a 8 mana 10/10. That'd make it so much better without making it broken.
