I've been curious about wether this mechanic would ever make it into the game, i think it'd be a great addition, also great work building on the flavour text of King's Defender! I hope we see something like this in Hearthstone soon
That picture from Skyrim though. Cool idea but so OP.
Not going to lie, I forgot the flavor text said it was a shield and when I realized that I just took the first shield I saw on Google and slapped it on there.
May I ask why it'd be so OP? Yeah, it'll kill two Azure Drakes when they attack you, but more than likely it'd just kill two 1/1's and then you'd get hit by the drakes.

I honestly disagree. A vanilla 3 mana 4/2 weapon would be balanced in my opinion. This is a 3 mana 4/2 weapon with an upside that your opponent can take advantage of, and turn into a downside as they can easily just hit your face with insignificant minions and waste the weapon's Durability, which is a note-worthy flaw to an other-wise cool idea for a mechanic. So honestly, I don't really know if this would actually be good enough to see play in Constructed.

The durability wouldn't be wasted when they attack into you though.

What if it was a 2 mana 2/3? Helps stave off aggression in the early game and can kill three things rather than two (compared to the Fiery War Axe), but you can't actively attack into minions giving it that drawback.

What he's saying is that you give up all semblance of being able to control where you put the durability. If the opponent has a 1/1 and a 4/4, the opponent could waste your durability on the 1/1, despite the fact that you could kill a 4/4 with this weapon in it's current state.
Yeah, I'd really like a card like this to be in the game. But a few points on the existing rules.
Cards like Misdirection can cause your minions to attack your own hero. If you happen to have a weapon equipped, you'll damage your own minion and the weapon will not lose durability. So if this card is going to lose durability when you are attacked, it needs text to state that.
I don't know that OPs version is totally balanced. Not sure what the balance would be, but maybe something like a 2/3, 2/4 or 2/5 would be good. Since your opponent will likely toss small minions into it, I'd want lots of durability over a high attack.
Here's an idea I had. One without a keyword, then the same weapon with a keyword. The idea is to do small amounts of damage to opponent's attack a control warrior who has built up lots of armor. Might be to niche to warrant a keyword, not sure what other kinds of cards would use it.
For those that don't get the joke, check King's Defender's flavor text.

I think instead of 4/2 make it 2/4 will be better against zoo/aggro
