Hello all! I was playing around with deathrattle deck designs earlier today when I had an idea for what I think could be a fun deathrattle-themed card. This card, which I somewhat arbitrarily gave a mana cost of 3, would have a unique effect: "this turn, all deathrattle effects are counted as battlecries." Essentially, this card combos well with cards such as Sylvanas Windrunner and Cairne Bloodhoof, allowing you to get their effects immediately but allowing their deathrattles to trigger normally if they die in subsequent turns. Naturally, this card would also be useful with almost all deathrattle cards, particularly those with card draw or damage dealing effects.
More than this, you could use this card defensively - play it when you want to clear your opponent's board and their deathrattles wouldn't trigger (as they'd be treated as battlecries). Play it with Chillmaw to get an improvised 3 damage board clear that leaves you with a 6/3 taunt capable of doing a further 3 damage to the board.
This card would probably have to be a legendary minion to limit the number of copies per deck to one. What do you guys think? Would this effect be overpowered? How do you think it could be balanced? Can you think of any other fun interactions?
Could be a great and fun card. Instead of a Battlecry, you could consider making it a passive effect, that way this card is a huge threat like Brann Bronzebeard.
Good idea! I guess I saw the card as being more of a control-oriented game changer, but playing it on curve with a passive effect could make it a powerful tool for aggressive decks. My only concern is that it might be too overpowered at that point - particularly with rat pack and twighlight summoner. Then again, playing it on curve would be a gamble just like it is with Brann Bronzebeard.
Making it a 4 mana 2/4 would certainly push it towards use as a late game tempo swing, which I think is probably a good idea. I think a 3 mana 1/3 might be better though because it enables more combos without contributing a substantial body by itself - the point of this card is simply to give deathrattle decks a new toy to play with!

As a 3 mana 2/4 or 3/4, it has great on-curve midrange capabilities with cards like Piloted Shredder, Rat Pack, Voidcaller, Shifting Shade, Tomb Pillager, Twilight Summoner, and maybe even Dreadsteed. If the card is designed as a battlecry, the on-curve potential obviously goes away.
It also has cool late-game/control potential with cards like Aya Blackpaw, Chillmaw, Cairne Bloodhoof, Deathlord (fatigue them faster), Savannah Highmane, and Sylvanas Windrunner.
