Before gadgetzan revelation comes up. I did a lot of fan creation. But I was always thinking in the current rules of hearthstone. When you attack, if you control X card, when you use X, etc.
But I realize with tri-class that in fact defined rules can be broken. It's a virtual game, we do what we want... I was so close-minded.
So, what can we imagine who is breaking the current rules (not especially a big thing, like tri-class that just break the fact "neutral are for all classes") ? So I don't want to see here things that already exist, it should be truly new. Let’s share your craziest ideas !
For example:
A second mana. A mana that doesn't increase if you don't play cards that give you one new mana. We will say it’s a red mana. Each red mana is converting one of your actual mana into a new mana color. You can still use this mana as a normal mana but you have to choose, because this is a common slot for normal and red mana.
Example play:
You have 8 manas whose 1 is red. You can play ragnaros and then you have 0 mana left for this turn but you keep your red mana slot.
But if you use a red mana first, you will have only 7 mana left and then your red mana slot is gone.
Exemple with cards:
So in this case Red Master does not increase normal mana, only Red Mana slot. And Hellhound cost 3 normal mana + 2 red mana so a total of 5 mana. If you have 3 manas whose 2 are red this doesn't work.
I will probably add more ideas when it comes but for now i'm pressed to see what kind of ideas you have !
If you think that's breaking the rules, doesn't any new card text break the rules? The whole point of new card text and keywords is to do things differently from how they would normally play out. It's not possible to break the rules of Hearthstone because whatever you write on the cards or however you define the keyword is the rules. Actually breaking the rules would be like having a player make a choice on their opponent's turn. Which would be really bad and poor design.
Also, I don't really understand you're red mana idea. The way you've described it is really confusing.
