This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic will go live in 24 hours.
Here are the Phase II Results:
Notice: We have decided to advance ALL 28 remaining entries to Phase III.
Why have we decided to advance all 28 of you instead of the 20 originally stated? For a few reasons. First, although 43 entries were permitted to advance to Phase II, designing an Adventure proved much more difficult and brutal than many expected, and so only 28 of you even ended up being able to submit valid entries! That just makes it even more commendable that you were able to put in the work. What that also means, though, is that we'd be eliminating a very small number of valid entries between Phases II and III, and we decided that we did not like that. Finally, because of the sheer volume and density of the submission topic, in large part due to formatting issues (which will be corrected with new formatting requirements for this Phase), up-vote totals were too low for us to feel comfortable eliminating based on them. We hope that you all find this decision fair and agreeable enough.
PHASE III - The Journey Continues
In this phase, you will complete the second wing of your adventure, progressing your story. The materials that you will be required to present are practically identical to those from Phase II, but there are some differences to take note of. Also, be aware that the submission topic will include much stricter formatting requirements than Phase II did.
A Plot Summary - Your Phase II submissions should include a plot summary or premise of your second wing. It may be good to include a plot summary or premise of your Adventure in general just to remind folks what your Adventure is working towards, and you can also recap the plot of your first wing.
The Bosses - Your submission should showcase one (1) boss battle of your choice from the second wing out in the open. All boss battles from your second wing must be included, but those beyond the one you are showcasing should be hidden in a spoiler to save space. Each boss battle, both for your showcased boss and the ones in the spoiler, must include a Hero Portrait, a Hero Power, and at least a brief description of that fight (what kind of cards they use, any additional phases of the game, etc.). Full deck lists, emotes, heroic mode differences, and so on are not required, but they're definitely not discouraged either.
The Rewards - Your submission should showcase out in the open up to three (3) collectible cards awarded as part of your first wing. All collectible cards awarded as part of the first wing must be included, but those beyond the ones you are showcasing should be hidden in a spoiler to save space. You must state exactly when and how each card is awarded, including at least telling us which of your first wing bosses are rematches as part of class challenges.
Keep in Mind... Deviation from the currently established normal numbers of bosses per wing or cards per set is fine to an extent, but dramatic departures for their own sake will be questioned and may be disqualified if we are not given sufficient reason to believe they are warranted.
If Your Adventure Has More Than 4 Wings... You'll notice that, at one adventure wing per competition phase (minus the initial concept phase), you'll only get four wings done. If your competition has more than four wings, then you may submit on additional wing during Phases III, IV, and/or V. However, if you do submit two wings this phase, you may still only showcase one boss battle and three collectible card rewards total.
Competition Process
PHASE III
Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 19:00 UTC 1/September/2016) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing the requirements for this phase of the competition. Entry Phase (Starts 19:00 UTC 1/September/2016, Ends 18:00 UTC 12/September/2016) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. Note that up-votes will be irrelevant for this and all future competition phases. Poll Phase Part 1 (Starts 19:00 UTC 12/September/2016, Ends 19:00 UTC 13/September/2016) During this Phase, the odd-numbered entries, as listed at the top of this topic, will be included in a poll. Poll Phase Part 2 (Starts 19:00 UTC 13/September/2016, Ends 19:00 UTC 14/September/2016) During this Phase, the even-numbered entries, as listed at the top of this topic, will be included in a poll. Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
Phew, I wouldn't have made it if you hadn't been so lenient. Will have to step it up in the next round.
That in mind, does anyone mind offering feedback on my first few cards?
Volley: Anti-Zoo card for Hunter. Unplayable for less than 3 minions really, but amazing value against a full board.
Sylvanas, Silvermoon Defender: Idea behind it was as an anti-aggro tool. Buff small minions to slow your opponent down, and keep slipping Sylvanas back to your hand to re use the battlecry, buy you time to stabilise.
Defender of Quel'Thalas: Over-statted 3 drop with a drawback, any changes to the attack go in the opposite direction. For example, Abusive Sergeant would give it -2 attack until the end of turn.

I like the idea of volley. As you say it is very good for zoo but a dead card against control. Would be a good card to get from lock and load.
Sylvanas seems a bit op but I like the idea.
Defender of quelthalas does not have a big enough draw back to warrant the extra stats imo
Ok, there are two things I'm unsure about in the second wing of my adventure. The first is the art for Kerri Hicks:
And the second is the third boss, the Sideshow Games, This boss is different from other bosses, as you need to complete set criteria instead of killing a hero or surviving for 10 turns.
During the first phase, Whack-a-Gnoll, a 1/1 enemy Gnoll spawns at the end of each turn. After six have spawned, the next will be a 4/4 Hogger. You'll need to kill all seven Gnolls to proceed.
The second phase is Shooting Gallery. Six targets, along with a 0/4 Rinling with Taunt will spawn. You have to destroy all the targets, but be careful not to hit Rinling...
This and final phase is Ring Tossing. Ten Rings are shuffled into your deck, Rinling disappears and Dubenko spawns. The goal is to draw at least three Rings
and then throw three of them at Dubenko.
To make it harder, during the second and third phases (once the first target is removed) Steam Tonks will spawn at the end of your turn.
Quick question, guys. Rules say if you have more than 4 wings, you can post the extra wing in some other phase. It doesn't specify which phase. So I'm allowed to post two wings in Phase 3 yes?
Also some random cards. I have crappy internet right now but I thought I'd post some.
I don't have time to give feedback right now, but I'll just throw some of the cards I've already made out there:
Hey man, if you'd like my feedback: I think you should be careful with your Elusive keyword. For now it seems like you're just slapping it on just because. Too much of something also makes it pretty boring, as the keyword doesn't have much variation by itself. The Discover mechanic was super versatile, you could discover different types of cards. Another example, Joust, was simply an activator for an effect. The effect itself varied. Here, Elusive is just that.
As for the individual cards: Dragonfly Swarm – In a vacuum, it's 4-mana deal 5 damage randomly split. Very underwhelming. I'd rather run the more reliable Unleash the Hounds which I can control. "Random" is like an auto minus point for me. Dragonfly Nest – Okay card. Nothing groundbreaking though. Apothecary – Again, more randomness. Rag Lightlord might be random but he very very VERY often heals your face for 8. Here? It's totally wild. Terrible imo. Huntress – I don't see why you're obsessed with random effects. At least relegate it to a random enemy MINION. Is it balanced right now? Yes. Would I run it in a deck? No. The Elusive also feels tacked on. It contributes nothing. Lightsworn – The most interesting of the bunch. Offensively better than Shielded Minibot, and the divine shield means you'll get to do the full 3 attack very often. Still, feels like a janky card to me, but it is better than the rest.
I know you say you'll have support for Elusive cards, but 1) Not a lot of it so far, and since this is the second wing still without any Elusive support, people will lose faith. You're promising a cool Fairy archetype but so far, not delivering, and 2) That kind of synergy is too simple. "Here are some subpar cards and here are some other cards that make them better."

My 2 cents, if you'll have them.
Thanks for the feedback! It's really helpful.
I realise that I may have made a mistake with the Elusive mechanic, but it's a bit to late to change that now. I've been wracking my brain for ways to make it more interesting, but so far I've got nothing. For Fairy synergy, I'm still working on it, but I want to base it on how many fairies you control (Like: Battlecry: If you control less than/more than (x) fairies, do Y, or 'Do Y for each fairy you control'.)
The huntress was supposed to target minions only. I must have accidentally uploaded the wrong card. The Apothecary is something I'm quite willing to change. I wasn't quite sure about the effect anyways. I'm thinking about changing it to something like 'Restore health equal to the amount of fairies you control'. I made another version of it that discovered cards like Xaril's toxins (with effects that are mainly defensive, like 'Restore 3 health'), but I didn't really like it.
Here's some synergy cards I've been planning (I haven't gotten around to balancing them yet):
As for your cards:
Overall, I like them, so I'll just comment on the ones I have comments on:
Psychic Scream: This is one of the few cards I'm unsure of. Giving enemy minions -4/-4 is insane, especially for 6 mana. Giving them -2/-2, while decidedly not as powerful, is still quite strong, because you kill off the small ones and leave the big ones remarkably less threatening. I'm not quite sure how you're valuing the entire 'scheme' effect, but it seems too powerful to me, especially since you'll most likely have more cards than your opponent when playing control priest. Thing in the Ice: I LOVE IT. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's balanced or not, but I think it is. Send Courier: Isn't this just really weak? While I love the flavour, it seems like you're loosing board presence (unless you shuffle a 1/1 or something) for a 1 mana cycle, which, while powerful, doesn't quite make up for losing a minion. If you are shuffling a beast, it'll still be questionable unless it's a Hound or something like that. It only really gets value if you play a 1 mana minion, and most 1 mana beasts suck.
Hey guys, I've seen some "event bosses" in fase 2, can somebody tell me how to do those? Did you do that on your own or there's a premium hearthcards tool to do that?

I'll assume you mean like this?
If so, you just need to leave the Health empty when making a Hero Portrait. Don't type in anything there.

Sorry, folks, it's been a much busier day at work than I expected, and I haven't had time yet to finish the draft of the new submission topic. I promise that I will work on getting it up when I get home in a few hours, though! Please don't hate me. >_<

Send Courier has clunky wording. My suggestion: "Shuffle a friendly minion into your deck and draw a card. If it's a Beast, draw 2 cards instead."
P.S. I think wording on Entomb is clunky too, they should go with Recycle wording and just write "Shuffle an enemy minion into your deck", but that's just Blizzard things. :)
P.P.S. Otherwise I like the card, really flavorful. Could maybe even be 0 mana. Compare with Shadowstep where you know what you get and it's discounted. It's almost like drawing Innervate and the same minion.
Whenever you reference multiple minions by stats you write the number of minions with letters instead of numbers so that it's not in "conflict" with the stat numbers.

Even if you post it in a week, I have a feeling it does not matter in case of this competition. ;)

Those other cards you posted + the changes you suggested to your own cards there is VASTLY better than the ones you've presented so far, so I advise you rearrange when some cards will be rewarded and remake the other ones. I think everything has potential, you just haven't reached it yet.
As for my own cards: Psychic Scream – Yeah this has been problematic according to several people, I'll think about upping the cost / reducing the effect. Send Courier – Yup, another one with an issue because I'm aware of the card disadvantage. Spend 2 cards to get 1-2 cards. I thought it would be okay because 1) it costs 1-mana and 2) you could cycle an injured Highmane or a healthy 1/1 Hound. I'll change it around.
Some alternatives: - Shuffle a random Beast from your hand into your deck, draw X cards. Yeah you might cycle away your Highmane, but you get a lot more cards from it. Basically: Shuffle one card you don't need to possibly get X cards you DO need. - Since Sneaky_Raptor mentioned Shadowstep: Return a friendly Beast to your hand, draw X. It's like Shadowstep - discount + draws. If not, I'll just design a new card in its place. I just wanted Hunter to have more draw options, so it'll probably be another draw spell.
I feel like I don't deserve getting to phase 3 because of my submission's poor reception, so I wonder if it's even worth spending time on :'D If the last stage went so poorly, why would the next stage be that different? :P

Completely different bosses and cards this wing so it has all the chance to appeal. The last phase had little interest full stop not just yours. The new formatting restrictions are designed to alleviate those problems I think because many voiced their concerns around it.

Well y'never know man, but it's all up to you. Personally, I went into the competition with the mindset that even if I lost at the first phase, I would continue with the Adventure and post it in the forums. It's still fun regardless, y'know? But if you're just entering to win, not getting any fun from the process, then it might be better to not bother.

Why Rogue is my favourite class:
My submission for this week's card design competition.
Hey guys, I've seen some "event bosses" in fase 2, can somebody tell me how to do those? Did you do that on your own or there's a premium hearthcards tool to do that?
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Sorry, folks, it's been a much busier day at work than I expected, and I haven't had time yet to finish the draft of the new submission topic. I promise that I will work on getting it up when I get home in a few hours, though! Please don't hate me. >_<
As for my own cards:
Psychic Scream – Yeah this has been problematic according to several people, I'll think about upping the cost / reducing the effect.
Some alternatives:
- Shuffle a random Beast from your hand into your deck, draw X cards.
