For close to a year now I have been making my own Hearthstone Cards, Adventures and Expansions. At the suggestion of a good friend, who's also an avid Hearthstone player, he suggested I share the website I made so that others can enjoy what I have done and see what I am working on.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
I am steadily working on my tentatively named expansion "The Scarlet Crusade." One of the cards I have created helps to show off the Scourge side of the expansion.
The landscape of Lordaeron was forever changed when The Scourge invaded. One of the most devastating tools The Scourge used, and still uses today, is the Plague Cauldrons.
"...these cauldrons are constantly boiling and spewing the Plague of Undeath into the air; corrupting and twisting the land..."
I loved the thought of making the Plague Cauldrons into a Hearthstone card and this is what I came up with.
Infected Minions gain a Deathrattle effect.
Deathrattle: Summon a 2/1 Feral Zombie under the opposing Hero's control.
Since the Scourge were under the control Ner'Zhul when they first invaded Azeroth I thought about having the Feral Zombies also be under the control of Ner'Zhul (the computer). For the time being I decided to go with the opposing player gaining control.
If they Ner'Zhul is controlling them they will attack a random enemy Character.
The Feral Zombie remains on the side of the field the infected card died on. Taking up space.
Feral Zombie acts just like a regular minion, but happens to be on the other side of the field.
The player who has the Feral Zombie on his/hers side of the field can attack it when it is their turn, but if they have a taunt minion they have to go through the taunt minion first. Since you can't attack your own minions, you would have to try other means for getting rid of the Feral Zombie on your side of the field.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
As with any Hearthstone expansion there are some fun "flavour" cards that are introduced.
One Tribe that gets a lot of attention are the Pirates, and like all Blizzard games they like to give a nod to pop culture in there own way.
The following card is my "pop culture" nod which I hope you enjoy!
I am having a hard time deciding on which card art to use, so hopefully I get some feedback from all of you on which you prefer!
As you can see the name of the card is a play on the names of the character himself, Jack Sparrow, and of the actor who plays him, Johnny Depp. Much like what was done with Harrison Jones.
As for Johnny Sparrow's ability, I wanted it to reflect the personality/nature of Jack Sparrow.
"He can be treacherous and survives mostly by using wit and negotiation rather than by force, opting to flee most dangerous situations and to fight only when necessary."
This "ellusiveness" is what I wanted to capture, which I think I did... Maybe too well...
Work on the "Scarlet Crusade" Expansion continues to move a long nicely and I hope to have principle card designs done shortly. Then moving along to review, editing and balancing.

Plague Cauldron should have text: "At the end of your turn give random enemy minion Deathrattle: Summon a 2/1 Feral Zombie for opposing Hero." or similar. The text you have how its just too confusing.
"Captain" Johnny Sparrow feels weird. Would be better with just one effect than with mix. Like "Got 50% chance to ignore any damage taken".
Balance wise it hard to tell due to unique effect but Plague Cauldron got too much stats for sure.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
I thought for awhile about what kind of text to use for Plague Cauldron. I didn't want it to get too "wordy," and I wanted to reflect on how in Warcraft people get "infected" by the Plague, so I opted for a simplified text. I'll put in my review notes to go over this before it's finalized! Thank you! :)
I agree with you on "Captain" Johnny Sparrow. I probably tried too hard to get too much into the text for his ability. I like your suggestion!
For balance... It is always hard for unique abilities. I try to fall back to other "unique" card abilities when I make my cards, but that doesn't always work.
What do you think about the standard 8 stats for a 4 mana drop? 4* and 0/8 for Plague Cauldron? Originally I thought I might need to compensate and add some extra stats because the card needs a couple other things to happen for it to really have "value."
