if we look at druids past appearances,druids are considered to be the most aggressive class in HS,i wonder if we can bring that back to life.
I'm not trying to say that we should play Savagery again...but lets take a look at another card named Soul of the Forest.
Look at the synergy with cards like Imp Master,Nerubian Egg,or the card that just got added recentlyDragon Egg.these cards are so confusing to use,except your'e playing in Zoo.But if you think about Mark of the Wild and Power of the Wild."what possibilities awaits"-generic Scientist.
Soul of the forest seems underwhelming to me. I like to play gimmick decks, with dark whispers and soul of the forest...fun? yes, competitive? well not in my case.
In order to pull combos like imp master and soul of the forest you need a draw engine, like for every combo deck. Now, imp master at turn 10 , even with soul of the forest, is clearly underwhelming, so you also need to have the cards early. For value , soul of the forest needs to be cast at least on 3 cards.
What does that mean is that in one of the best scenarios you play nerubian egg on 2, imp master on 3, nerubian egg * power of the wild on 4 or soul of the forest and power of the wild later. It seems unlikely to me and quite underwhelming in the current meta and the meta before.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing into thaurissan so i can soul of the forest and dr boom on turn 10, throw in a power of the wild, or replace boom with whipsers sometimes, but this simply does not work. It is a lousy chance that your draw engine will get you the exact combo that you need, and even then you might be under too much pressure from aggressive decks, or lack steam to finish strong control decks.
There's also the number of useless cards that might sit in your hand if you're missing a small piece, sould of the forest being an excellent example.
I've played Soul of the Forest to good effect, but it is tricky to get it right and ultimately probably not the best value when you compare it to a typical 4 cost minion or swipe which would be your alternate plays.
It works best when you have a board of minions, and you need at least 3 to get similar value from it than a generic 4 cost minion. More than 3 and you start to see strong value from the card.
But even if you are getting good value, it's not a "fast" card. It's value is only realized once you have had your minions killed and that is really the opposite of fast, its more a board control strategy.
Token druid can be pretty fast, I've got a version I play on ladder and I rush down zoo and hunter occasionally beating them on the clock with a good hand, mostly due to many minions + savage roar on turn 4-6. Generally you play a lot of death-rattle minions and various ways to buff and activate them. Its kind of slow turns 1-3 but can snowball quickly and is hard to blunt. In mine I have a few 7 drops as follow up if they survive the hordes. Works pretty well.

I love the idea of soul of the forest, but every deck i try with it falls flat. it either needs to do more, cost less, or we need to pare it with a muster like ability(that is cheaper than dark wispers)

i actually play Jeeves Innervate and Mech bear catin this deck for some reason i find Mech bear cat effective
