Oh hey, this is up earlier than normal! Here is my run this week. Didn't make top 8 this week, but there are a few entertaining bits (the YouTube description of the video includes links to these parts).
Definitely need to rework the deck I played to counter the rise of Shaman, but I think I will try something new for next week.
@Whale_Cancer I like to watch some HS plays while i have breakfast, but please dont spoiler your own games! Its boring, if I know, that you gonna lose ;)
There were some bigger flaws in your play. Big game hunter play vs the shaman for example (just one example). He had 5 or 6 cards left and didnt play a Ragnaros or Earth Elemental yet, so it was obvious that he will draw on of these soon. Additionally it was 100% sure to lose him vs a totem, which would be summoned again anyway.
It is kinda sad, but that secret mage deck seems to be pretty weak overall. Even if you do some adjustments, its still not competable I believe. You are always playing from behind, because of your few minions. Decent players know how to test out secrets and even if you manage to keep their boards clear, they will stay ahead, because a) Flamestrike usually ends your turn (7 mana) and b) your board is empty, too.
I know I know... We all were trying hard to stick to our beloved mage (mine is lvl 58), but after the freeze and the pyro nerf, we are kinda lost. Secret mage looks fun, but its really lacking minions and damage. Maybe we will see some spellpower mages again, but w/e pyro its destined to fail, too I guess.
Anyways thank you for sharing your stuff and keep going.

Yes, but I really find it more fun to try to make a new concept work; either way, I will probably run something else strange next week.
I'm going to rework secrets specifically to counter the types of Shamans I have been fighting in tournaments. Acidic Swamp Ooze, another Big Game Hunter, another Faceless Manipulator, Ice Block and another Spellbender should also help (I figure there are 3 types of Shamans right now, the ones who run Doomhammer, the ones who run big creatures who respond to the existence of an anti-druid meta, and the ones who run normal big creatures).

You'd think those counter shaman, but I got burned against Chakki because he had no targets whatsoever for BGH and black knight. The best target in that deck for a faceless or tinkmaster was fire elemental

Yes, Chakki's Shaman deck is very sophisticated in that it understands that many decks are still countering the previous Druid meta and he deliberately avoids playing into that. That being said, his deck is currently still the least common of the Shaman variants I have seen in the post-patch metagame.
Hunter rush decks still weren't in the tournament or they failed as i expected?
IIRC, there were 2 hunters (out of 40+ players). DeminRamsht's deck shared 5th and the other hunter took 23rd. Not sure what the other hunter was playing.
Might expect more Hunters next time as people figure things out post-patch.
[MG]Chakki - 1st Place:
TheSirenSong - 2nd Place
ImaBlackBelt - 3rd Place
Strayver - 4th Place
Spacewizard - 5th Place
Toban - 5th Place
DeminRamsht - 5th Place
lordsturm - 5th Place

I didn't face any hunters, there were only 1 or 2 registered in the whole tourney
