I originally wrote this post mid-GA, but it only caught on during AoO rollout. So, Demon Hunter has been nerfed twice now. It appears DH is still strong, but apparently most consistent deck is Rogue. Decent amount of variety in my experience. The overall theme seems to be tempo plays and value.
It seems like the top performing Warrior Decks are Egg Warrior and Bomb warrior. I have seen some quest around and I have had a lot of fun and success with Quest. Most highlander lists I have played just haven't felt consistent enough. What is working out there? What's fun? Where do you see the class going?
Personally, I genuinely love the Bomb Package, so much so that I added WrenchCaliburs to my Egg warrior list. It has been pretty fun; playing a zoo style warrior deck that has some amazing play potential and takes some skill to pilot.
I'm not having much success with control warrior. Does anyone have a list that is working?
I've been enjoying some Highlander Warrior, been messing with a Quest version. Which plays pretty well. Could definitely go without the quest though, there's a real fun set of weapons right now w/ a hoard pillager. What are some of the key legends you have?
I am a Warrior/Priest main and I miss playing control warrior. Galakrond Warrior was fun for like 2 hours and then I got sick because it's just facehunter in disguise. With the loss of Dr. Boom and Omega Asembly I just can't see how control warrior can be a thing.
I saw Regis try Bulwark Warrior but if that ever gets near playability people wil start running oozes and/or that pirate that STEALS YOUR WEAPON and it's GG.
Yeah, Highlander warrior was fun before AoO with the Omega's and Boom, Skyrocketed to diamond with my fun list playing with a lot of cards that were rotating out. The Quest in highlander warrior has been making up for the late game loss of Boom. Occasionally, will complete quest too quick against faster decks if you are getting your weapons, but also makes a mid-game - late game Gan'arg feel much better.
Gala warrior was fun for bit, aggro hunter that felt not too bad lol. Still probably a place for it with scrap golems and tomb wardens, might actually play with that in my taunt warrior been tinkering with. Quest doesn't feel as good in that list.
I know this is unusual for galakrond warrior but try it in a control shell. I personally use a taunt/dragon package and it feels amazing having an 8/11 armagdillo or buffing tomb warden to obscene levels. Just keep control of the board with your rush minions, invokes and 8 AOE. By late game you will have some THICC minions buffed from armagdillo or galakrond (sometimes from both >:D). Only found a few decks that can keep up with your lategame (libram pladadin and most priests) at which point you try to run them out of cards with archivist elysiana. Haven't ran in to another deck with her as of yet so fatigue has been GG most matches (did get combo'd by a demon hunter in most spectacular fashion involving kaelthas+doomhammer+inner demonx2, I had to applaud that combo lol).
Heres the decklist if you're interested:### Galacontrol # Class: Warrior # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (2) Frightened Flunky # 2x (2) Ritual Chopper # 1x (2) Slam # 2x (3) Awaken! # 2x (3) Bladestorm # 2x (3) Shield Block # 1x (4) Kargath Bladefist # 2x (4) Molten Breath # 2x (4) Scion of Ruin # 2x (5) Big Ol' Whelp # 2x (5) Brawl # 1x (5) Plague of Wrath # 2x (5) Shield of Galakrond # 1x (6) Armagedillo # 1x (6) Kronx Dragonhoof # 1x (7) Galakrond, the Unbreakable # 1x (8) Deathwing, Mad Aspect # 2x (8) Tomb Warden # 1x (9) Archivist Elysiana # AAECAYwWCLIIhp0DqKQD8qgD360D47QDvrkDxcADC0v/B5+kA4KoA9itA9qtA/6uA9KvA+ewA/+0A7i5AwA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone
Slam, molten breath and big ol' whelp are the flex cards for this deck. I removed shield slam because I often use invokes to remove minions so I'd have to wait for shield block to get decent armor levels, molten breath does this but on one card and even at the same mana cost! Slam and whelp are there to help draw/activate molten breath, you can cycle 5/6 cards depending on kronx then draw 4 with galakrond. I took out devoted maniac since the invoke on that card felt awkward alongside rush and never felt like it did enough lategame. Besides you still hit 4 invokes consistently with card draw, this could be improved with corsair cache instead of slam to straight up tutor an invoke but I like the potential removal for demon hunters (their entire early game is 2 health minions). If you feel you're facing tons of aggro I'd really recommend dropping archivist elysiana and 1 tomb warden for 2x sword and board, it's essentially armor up+shield slam for 1 mana instead of 3. That card has ruined a lot of demon hunters for me lol.
I'm looking for any feedback/suggestions, my winrate has been decent but I don't feel like the deck is optimized yet. For example I've been considering scrap golem instead of tomb warden since we have a pretty strong late game already.

I´ve also been trying hard to make control warrior work this expansion, with little luck. Either I´m good vs aggro but lose the value game every time or I´m putting in more value and then losing to aggro all the time and maybe win the value game 50% of the time. I´m thinking, like you, to go back to Galakrond Control. Last expansion I did really well with a Galakrond value warrior with dragon breeders and Barista for just to maximize the amount of Scions you can play, since thats your big value card. Now with the loss of Town Crier and Eternium Rover there´s a lack of tutoring important minions and some early game board prescence. Supercollider could be replaced with Ramming speed and has been very valuable in the previous versions I´ve been trying out. It usually always trades one or two big minions for two mana which is good.
Its a tough world for us control warriors right now
I am having a fair bit of success on the ladder with my "Panzer warrior" deck, it is a mix of the armour/taunt and bomb package. It is on my free to play account so I don't have grommash as a finisher which I would probably play but letting the bombs win the game has been working.
It is especially good against spell mage as once they play reno they will draw into those bombs quickly. It seems to do very well against warlock and Demon hunter and naturally negates highlander decks.
Priest is am issue as they can find the value to win the long game but it is winnable. Big druid is biggest counter and while I haven't played it yet I reckon the new libram mountseller pally would be tough too.
This is not at high ranks though so take it with a pinch of salt, I am almost at diamond currently.

I just saw a deck on grandmasters that was pretty heavy bomb package with 2 wrenchcaliburs, pirate package, corsair caches, looks like it curved out to boom and deathwing. I pulled Ancharr the other day and have been considering a pirate bomb warrior. Will let y'all know how it plays
I've won against all meta decks including res priest (magtheridon is MVP), but Gala Priest is on the rise and that means Control Warrior will be completely unplayable, at least at legend. Easily the most polarizing and unwinnable matchup in the entire game, truly terrible.
I was wondering about a more control variant, have had some success with Pirate Bomb in Diamond 5-3. The curve out to Boom is nasty when drawn. (surprisingly often), Anyone else remember when OG Boom was OP on 7?? LOL
Man the meta is shifting so much I just cant settle on a list, changing it all the time! What you guys think, quest or no quest? Its better in a priest meta, but rogue just finished purging that class from the game (was about time lol).
I'm considering a dragon package? w/ Buckler? Tempo turns with scale rider and molten breaths feel pretty good. Spellkin is real nice for extra removal or maybe upgrade.
Actually seen a couple warriors on ladder today so, some of us are holding on lol.
I just Dischanted Bullwark of Azzinoth and now I am a little bit upset, I thought this card is not good and never see play, but I am frightening of having regret in the future :( Any thoughts on this card you warrior fans like me :)
Btw I am playing mostly kibler's hack the system deck nowadays, you should check this out

Right now, it's not a great fit for the meta, lots of tempo and lots of damage. That being said, it does feel incredible in highlander and control lists. I was playing some quest and it felt okay there too, sometimes just felt bad though. I expect in future expansions it will be better.
I will have to check that out, big fan of Kibler. I have been playing Egg Warrior, sniffing first time legend :). Running NoHands List:

This is my version so far. I´m 5/0 so far. Value is insane and seems to do decent against the aggro decks.
Cards to consider depending on meta: Archivist Elysiana for even more value in fatigue games. EVIL Quartermaster and Shield Slam for a slower meta. Kargath Bladefist and Devoted Maniac is under review, might get cut..
Risky Skipper is really good vs Galakrond Warlock and Demon Hunter. Can also clear the board vs Token Druid. Can activate Plague of Wrath.
Kobold Stickyfinger is MVP. Stealing Galakrond weapons. Highlander Tirion Fordring weapons, Demon hunter lifesteal weapons, Ancharr and Hunter weapons etc. Its great.
Barista Lynchen is the win condition in this deck. Scion of Ruin in to Barista Lynchen is tons of value. You also generate more Scion of Ruin with Dragon Breeder. Barista Lynchen can also hit tons of other minions and Dragon Breeder can hit Big Ol' Whelp if needed too.
BTW I´m writing the guide during the day/next few days

I'd love to see that deck. I am playing bomb warrior rn.
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1343982-legend-pirate-bomb-warrior is pretty close to what i had in mind, I will likely cut southsea deckhands for armorsmiths also debating swapping grom inner rage for Deathwing, mad aspect and a battle rage or something
Got 8/0 with my homebrew control bomb warrior at legend, until I started facing Gala Priests back to back lol.
I've won against all meta decks including res priest (magtheridon is MVP), but Gala Priest is on the rise and that means Control Warrior will be completely unplayable, at least at legend. Easily the most polarizing and unwinnable matchup in the entire game, truly terrible.

I think Bomb package is a must, all decks draw so well. the damage will be dealt
