My control warrior list at rank 4 seems to beat nearly every other non-combo meta deck including mech paladin and mages, but I am 0% against midrange hunter bursting me down with tundra rhino and dire frenzied beasts. According to HSreplay I should be slightly unfavoured but I wonder if I'm missing my win condition?
I've been on a but if a hiatus for the past couple of months and only back playing a week or so my thoughts may not be totally accurate but I'm a CW main so I'll throw them out there anyway.
Back in BDP and RR, Odd (control) Warrior's win condition against Midrange Hunter was to get Dr. Boom online as early as possible and play a tempo game against them with big mechs+rush. Playing a value/fatigue game against them wasn't all that sensible because at the time they had access to Deathstalker Rexxar so unless you could grind literally all their resources and leave them with 1 zombeast per turn, you were never going to outvalue them - therefore getting board and smacking their head in the late game was the key to victory.
Now that Rexxar is gone, and Warriors have access to significantly more removal (not gimped by limitations of Baku), it makes far more sense to play a value oriented game against these Hunter builds. Looking at the way the decks are built, you're not opting for a fatigue win condition in this matchup, but more of an "exhaust" win condition, by which you want to use your high value plays to reduce their available resources and then overwhelm them on the board once they are down to just a few cards in hand (2 or 3). Sometimes a fatigue game plan might make sense but obviously make sure you save a brawl and have enough health available to negate their late game Zul'Jin play before transitioning into this strategy.
Man, this is a thread from 1 year ago. They were complaining about meta (kind of). The issue doesn't exist anymore. Now hearthpwn recommended me this thread

Try this out and let me know how it goes.

As stated, this isn't relevant to the existing meta any longer.
