How is it possible that this matchup is listed as very favored for the quest warr???? By the time you have quest done, the odd warr has 80+ health and a hand full of removal and more armor cards. Anyone care to explain the stats on this?
Dealing 8 damage is better them gaing 4 armor. It's simple as that. Also going to fatigue you have your heropower as removal but you run out of removal if plaing without quest. I find it better with quest anyway. More versatile imo
In a more serious note i believe its cause of its a slow deck which means also tanks up a lot and when it finally completes yhe quest with that 3 mana echo taunt u start slamming down 8 dmg plus there's that mech that doubles dmg and even pixie
I am no expert of either, but I would guess that 8 damage every turn ultimately kills the regular odd warrior, after several turns?
Not when they play Dr. Boom on curve and pump out an unlimited supply of 1/1 mechs on the board that eat your hero powers. You don't have like 15 turns time to just press hero power on empty board.

I played Odd Warrior last month and got to Rank 1. I started autoconceding to Odd Taunt Warrior because no matter how much you tank up, which you can’t do every turn without sacrificing your own (already limited) offense anyway, the Ragnaros HP-pixie-HP combo eats up the majority of what armor you have. That, coupled with the fact that reckless flurry and shield slam are dead removals against Odd Taunt, means that *if the deck is played correctly*—and every one that I saw was—you’re dead in the water from the get-go.
To your point about Dr. Boom, if you high roll the right hero power multiple times in a row, I’m sure it’s possible to eke out a win, but there’s a far greater likelihood that you’ll get the other ones mixed in, all of which are useless against Odd Taunt Warrior. The closest I came to winning was by never playing Dr. Boom and getting ridiculously good draws from Omega Assembly. Even that game wasn’t particularly close....
I guess it's my usual crap luck drawing no taunt minions and getting quest done by like turn 14-15 or something. You can't remove a board of crap while at the same time playing Pixie combo more than like maybe once, so that doesn't help at all in that scenario. And even if you can, taking out 16 hp out of 80+ barely makes a dent anyway. Time to get better luck I suppose. And if you think shield slam is a dead removal at this level of armor, I'm not sure if you are playing the same game.
What I mean by “dead removal” is that Odd Taunt Warrior’s win condition isn’t a minion, it’s the HP. Shield Slam is really only useful against Baku and Oondasta, and maybe Amani. After you clear those 3-4, there’s nothing left to use it on.
Maybe try being more aggressive next time you meet one? Throw down taunts and go face every turn to keep that armor count as low as possible. But also, yeah, if you’re not completing the quest until turn 14, that’s a huge problem. I’d say, on average (and tiny sample size caveat applies here, obviously), I see the quest completed by 7-8, which is about when I tend to complete it too, when I switch to Odd Quest.
Like so many matchups in this game, could just be super unlucky draw keeping you down.

This sentence makes absolutely no sense.

Regular Odd Warrior is stronger against Mid-range.
