So here is the deck that I created, which got popularized after I gave it to Kripparian. Right now the deck is at the top of Warrior decks by winrate too according to HS Replay (and that is with over 7000 games)
I think that Odd Quest Warrior is worse because 4 armor is good and all, but after going Ragnaros mode it doesn't matter, because rather than having just a bit more health in the begging game against aggro midrange and tempo it is better to have some extra board clears like: Warpath, Blood Razor, Primordial Drake. Also armor gain can be done in big burst when it matter by playing Drywhisker Armorer which Odd Warriors also don't have access to. Yes this card didn't shine before, but in Kobolds meta right after it got introduced Warrior just didn't have a good deck where it fits so well. My initial reason for adding those were just to make sure that I can fire Reckless Flurry even after going Ragnaros mode, but it is actually very good to get bunch of armor when opponent goes wide too (and then board clear with anything, doesn't have to be Reckless)
I call my deck "Tempo Quest" because you lots of time just tempo out quest by turn 9. Even against aggro you do that, because with so many taunts and board clears you just annihilate them right after finishing quest, don't rely on them running out of stuff though just destroy aggro with DIE INSECT to face after board clears, muliganning quest is asking for trouble as you might run out of board clears before they run out of stuff, and with Sulfuras you just kill them. If you muligan the quest you remove your main win condition for no reason as you have deck filled with anti-aggro tools anyway so you don't need an extra card, but you do need Sulfuras as a finisher.
There are links to Kripp playing the deck (and earlier version of it) in the deck description. Here is the link to Kripp going to legend with the deck:
When he reaches legend he credits me properly for the deck (he thanks me even). Though I would be honest, Kripp plays my deck better than I do, mostly because I'm not as skilled at counter play and planning as he is. So I would recommend actually learning from him rather than my replays.
Control warrior was CONTROL warrior thanks to Justicar, and that was in turn 6... upgrade hero power in turn 1 is veeeeery good.
I am talking about quest warriors exclusively here. Odd warrior without quest is actually better than odd quest warrior. As i said above if you gonna replace your hero power anyway what happens is that you don't even get to use upgraded hero power more than 3-4 times before going ragnaros. But not having enough board clears can backfire big time in quest warrior.

the OP is right, baku might be pwerful but if you want permanent defense you have to play with both Odd and even cards otherwise you leave holes in your defense and can't reach your alte-game value win condition, and control warrior EXISTED waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Justicar, it's one of the first classic decks, in the times when artosis still played and Sylvannas still costed 5 mana.
I haven't played a lot of Warrior yet in Witchwood, but I'm not at all surprised to hear this. Control Warrior doesn't need much on-curve support, but Quest Warrior needs a lot of it.

No acolytes doesn't hurt your draw? Reckless flurry also seems hard to activate, all you have is shield block.
I have Drywhisker Armorer to activate Reckless Flurry, it is an awesome combo and guaranteed to clear almost any wide board, Also my deck is stacked with taunts, so average draw is a taunt minion, so you rarely need additional card draw.
ive played and posted this same deck, didnt know it was actually yours. hes right, odd quest warrior is about 1000x better with even cards. it beats almost every other deck right now and goes 50/50 with cube. you dont need the upgraded hero power against control at all, and against aggro if you are going to lose, the hero power probably doesnt save you anyway because your draw is fking awful at that point.
Been playing Quest Warrior for a long time now, currently rank 6, and atm I noticed my winrate is slightly higher because of Armorsmith > Drywhisker Armorer?
Other personal choices I run is 1x Battle Rage combined with 2x Blackwald Pixie and a Gorehowl. Don't think Alexstrasza is needed but a couple of 16 burst damages (and Gorehowl can go face as well) is enough to win control match-up most of the time. If Taunt Druid is common running a Cornered Sentry is useful.

Well yes, your ideas do work at low ranks, but a lot of them failed for me at rank 4 and higher. Armorsmith can be better for healing, but I run Drywhisker Armorer not so much for healing as for activating of Reckless Flurry. Battle Rage can be better card draw than Acolyte of Pain I suppose depending on meta, but I don't even run him anymore as I actually do need Cornered Sentry against Taunt druids (which is mentioned in my guide). Gorehowl works fine at low ranks where people instead of playing around it actually play into it, but then when people stop doing such stupid misplays you are in a world of pain. I did try out Blackwald Pixie, but I found it often sitting in my hand as a dead card. And I never even met such a bad opponent that I would have time to play an Alexstrasza against them.
Yes Rank 6 is low rank as you can tell from what I said. The real struggle starts at rank 3-4 where you actually get destroyed with the greedy cards that you propose...
P.S. Also my deck was created when Paladins were rampant on ladder, it is not as good right now, even though still has quite high win rate.
Idk, the most aggro-ish deck I face is Mage and Armorsmith saved that match-up a lot for me, with all those RNG missile cards and Explosive Runes instead of minions. Not faced any Taunt Druid in days so not running Cornered Sentry. I suppose Drywhisker Armorer (combined with Reckless Flurry) is better against Quest Rogue in theory, but I lose that match-up in 90% of the cases anyway lol
Alexstrasza is not a great card in this deck I agree, but The Lich King doesn't feel good either. If anything I rather run Elise the Trailblazer if I had room but am still keen on Gorehowl for now. Also, facing a lot of Control Warlocks, so've been trying Spellbreaker as a check to Rin, the First Disciple. It also punished bad player for Cube'ing and not using Dark Pact on it. Tbh though, Warlock is not the hardest match-up with double Pixie. Since I'm still following that strategy, I also run Doomsayers.
Lastly, how's Harrison Jones over the Ooze? Weapon classes need to get through the Taunts anyway, and I rather draw some removal or more Taunts than getting 4 or less armor.
Well as I said deck was mostly countering aggro paladins. It is indeed bad against aggro mages. Also I wouldn’t add Elise and just run a cheap taunt instead of lich king if I would replace him. Goal of my deck is to quickly finish quest and then just board clear plus hero power a bunch... I am not trying to win long value game.
I desigend my own tount warrior (combining it with rush and froothing berserkers) and will see how it works in the long run and what i need to adapt. But i also think the odd version is worse. I usually need till T10 to get into ragnar mode and often draw the hole deck but i can kill as fast as T5 on a perfect draw i he does not immidiately remove the berserker. Lich king is good but expensive as well as the primordial drakes all i run is maximum 5 mana.
I have a hard time fighting aggro mage, crystal core rouge and not so bad but still hard cubelock. Still serching for the joker card that does help me with this three matchups. Harrison Jones and Azalina failed here. The last tweak that actually feels good was adding one facelss manipulator... In theory Harrison is the right card to go but he barely changes annything when playing...
And yes it destroys paladins, but i fight spiteful and cubelocks left and right ...
Lich king is probably too expensive but he gives 2 AOE cards, and drake is AOE. After going rag mode most important thing is clearing the board so that rag shot goes face in my opinion.

100% agree with you, this deck is much better than its odd counterpart. I can't imagine playing warrior without Blood Razor or Execute right now

Taunt warrior sucks, even, odd or normal. Regular CW is a way better deck.
