Let this boring deck die. Jades and reno dumpstered it and i doubt there is any incentive to revive probably the oldest archetype in this game.
Look at the infinite value quests. Think you can take that to fatigue?
Jades dumpstered it. Reno decks are weaker against control warrior than regular control decks because of the lack of threats. The reason why CW kept losing to Renolock is because of Jaraxxus, not Reno.
And I for one love control warrior. Way more fun to play than Pirate. But sadly because Blizzard keeps making infinite value things like Jade Idol, Lakarri Portal, etc, Fatigue warrior won't have a fun time trying to run a deck out of value.
Reno Mage is easely favorible against Control Warrior as well, except for cycle burn version. The Kazakus potion it's too much for it to handle. And Control Warrior needs tech to hard against aggro, what make than it lose the value game.
I agree. You can't outvalue a Reno Mage period.
Even old school Renolock without kazakus was still a toss up at best, especially if they managed to set up a jaraxus safely.
Blizzard completely screwed over control decks with Kazakus and Jades. I highly doubt that any decent old style control decks will be able to exist while MSOG is still in the standard meta.
Also the only thing CW was really consistently better against, pre MSOG was Shaman, Rogue, Aggro Warrior and Zoo.
Now with jades, the new warlock quest card, and pirates, not even these matchups are a given anymore. If you tech against aggro, you lose against half the meta playing jades and if you tech against jades, you lose to smorc (and still lose against jades).
I still need someone to explain to me (write slowly and in caps) why anyone would choose Elise the Trailblazer over Prince Malchezaar. Elise shuffles 5 cards with high possibility of including a legendary into your deck. Prince M. shuffles 5 legendaries into your deck. And is more durable by 1 point. Is it for a possible synergy between Un'Goro cards? Or the possibility to get spells? This simply would be not good enough for me.You will have a harder time
You will have a harder time to draw your important cards if you have 35 cards in your deck and that will hurt your win rate alot in aggro matches. Elise the Trailblazer is a better card because you get to controll when her effect takes place.
So to sum it up, the CW quest must provide us either infinite value, or a giant game finishing threat. If not, we dont have much hope for the archtype.
Well to be more precise control warriors need to be more tempo heavy. The problem is druids shine into the late game due to uncontrollable board pressence. Kazakus decks can actually down right out value you or out tempo you. The latter can actually be won depending how kazakus rolls. Cards like Mosh are way too slow and is conditioned. The draw engine and removal takes up too much of the deck that you can't play mid game threats. However, no reno might bring back alex grom combo with curator help. I think if u wanna play the more controlly approach, you need a win condition.
With Prince M, the average legendary is bad and you will be top decking those 5x. The effect of this is that you are significantly lowering the odds of drawing the cards you put in the deck to further your hand plan, like removal, clears, weapons etc.
Elise gives you all 5 cards through 1 pack card so your deck is only diluted by 1 card as opposed to 5 with Prince m. Also, the elise card can give you non class cards which might provide answers that you wouldn't otherwise have access to. Mana wise the spread will probably also be better, allowing you to fit more of those cards in per turn.

Midrangish control had been tried before, and failed. Warrior hero power do nothig to boardstate, so you cant complete vs shaman or paladin for example. Like the devs said, they want to make cards that" turn the corner" for control deck later in the game to finish Jade off, and we will see what they have in store for this expansion.
First of all - we have to see warrior's quest. I have a bad feelings that it will be somehow connected to taunt archetype. I really hope that Blizzard will not try to force us to play taunt warrior again. Another prediction is quest connected to armor after Justicar is gone. Both of these quests would suck against jade decks.
Second of all - we don't know the post-rotation meta. Control warrior needs to be favoured against at least two popular decks to be playable - not only pirate warrior which might not even be played as much as currently.
p.s i hate that warrior's cards are usually revealed so late comparing to other classes :P

with jade idol still being in this.. there's no hope for control decks.

I have a solid57% winrate with my control wariior in this meta. Check my profil for the list.

Thanks for the explanations regarding Elise vs Prince M. I do get the point but I think I´d rather play neither tbh.
