I've been leaning against running Flame Imp in some of my Zoo decks. It's Backstab and Sap prone, and is one of the worst late game top decks you could draw. Yes it's a 3/2 1 drop. But in this meta, that 3 damage to yourself seems too costly. Leper Gnome is a possible substitution since at the very least insures 2 damage to your opponent. Thoughts?
I find flame imp to be so powerful for flooding the board. You shouldn't worry about "late game draws" for zoo, if you don't win by turn 7/8 then you don't have much of a chance to win anyways. If you opponent saps your flame imp they're still losing tempo, which is the entire point of a zoo deck.

I feel it's completely possible to win with zoo after turn 7/8. As a matter of fact, if you win before then that just means you opened up really well.
Flame Imp isn't that great against miracle, but it's pretty good against druid which is one of the other most popular classes. I think the idea has definite merit though, it's worth considering depending on the opponents you face.

I'm so glad there is prejudice against playing hunter/zoo/[insert FotM deck here]. People like that make the life so much easier for those of us who play to win.
I don't really like Flame Imp myself, but I haven't been bothered changing it because when you do get to open with them they can be devastating. But I think it would be worth a try swapping them out for something else. Try it see how it goes :)

Most of the time cancer decks already run a leper gnome so you will need to look outside the box. The obvious choice is Worgen Infiltrator.
