I run Faerie Dragonin all of my Zoo lists right now. The meta calls for it. It is one of the strongest turn 1 The Coinplays you can make against Rogues, Druids, and Mages. If your opponent does not have the perfect answer, Faerie Dragon can deal 9 damage over 3 turns- a huge blow to anyone facing Zoo.
In the past, I have played with x2 Shieldbearer. I actually even kept one Shieldbearerin Blood Zoo. It honestly came down to wanting better heavy hitting turn 1 and 2 plays. As you can see, I've also replaced x2 Dire Wolf Alpha, which makes nixxing Shieldbearereasier. I'd say Faerie Dragon replaced Dire Wolf Alpha. It terms of damage output they are similar, but in this meta I give the edge to Faerie Dragonsince it can't be Backstab'd orWrath'd on turn 2. It stays on the board, wreaking havoc turn after turn.
Faerie Dragon is an awesome card. Specially for zoo against rogues, druids or even hunters. The same reason i like to play it in hunter's deck.

"There are bad ways to win-- and good ways to lose. What's interesting and troubling is that it's not always clear which is which. A flipped coin doesn't always land heads or tails. Sometimes it may never land at all..."
The card has really grown on me over the past few weeks. I once forced a Miracle Rogue to attack my turn 1 Faerie Dragonwith her 1/2 Dagger over 2 turns. It was glorious. Later found out she had a Backstabin hand the whole time. Poor thing.
What about Worgen Infiltrator as a backup if it looks like a coin/fairie dragon isn't the right play? Or if you go first? I'm thinking of finally caving and going zoo (or an anti-zoo zoo) to just start climbing again. never thought i'd see the day, a control priest to the end. QQ
Faerie Dragon is just so strong. Quite frankly I wish they would add more cards like it, they are perfectly balanced. Just at the moment game is too young to be thinking about adding a substantial amount of cards. Naxxramas is actually a "Mini-Expansion" only adding 30 Cards. Maybe in the future they will add an actual one with effects like that of Faerie Dragon.
I forget if I've seen this happen or not, but can an Elven Archer target Faerie Dragon with the battlecry damage? I feel like I've seen that happen before.

I run this card in nearly every deck i make. Just have to watch for the 2/1 first turn drops before it.
What did you take out of the traditional Zoo to make room for them?
Here are two of my Zoo lists that run x2 Faerie Dragon.

Ah, thank you. It looks like you cut a Shieldbearer to make room. Do notice a big difference with the subtraction of the taunt?

I've been seeing them in some Token Druid decks as well recently. Just goes to show how much power this card has right now.

The nightmare against Druid is the turn two counter of Innervate into Keeper of the Grove. This happens way too much to me.

I love that scenario. I'll take Keeper of the Grove hitting that instead of something important later in the game.
One of the best openings I have had is coin Fairie Dragon, then turn tow Void Walker and Young Priestess. It's pretty potent.
But it's such a tempo loss, and he has 2/4 to help clear for the next few turns! It really is a worst case scenario for Zoo.

Happy to recommend! It would seem that Faerie Dragon is quite effective in this meta.

Might have to give this a try. Been wanting to change things up in my zoo deck and had thought about this one. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes it can, since it's not a Spell or Hero Power.

Yes that works. That's why Grove does well against it.
