Are you guys feeling a decrease in weapons? I was running ooze yesterday for about 20 games without being able to kill a single weapon with it except for 1/2 daggers. No shamans have been running doomhammer, I haven't seen any warriors since rank 5, and the miracles always destroy their weapons before i get to ooze them. Is there even any point running it anymore?
Also, have any of you guys tried out faceless manipulator? I am playing a slightly altered version of the nuba deck running faceless and one argent commander instead of ooze and one manatide, and I'm currently rank 2. I suppose it doesn't help much against zoolocks, but I feel like it does so much to improve the match ups against anything that isn't zoolock or miracle rogue.

I tried replacing it with lava burst but then I faced 3 weapon decks in a roll LOL Well, shamans will always use at least stormforged axe, and warriors and rogues are in the top of the meta still, so yeah I would not remove Ooze just yet.
How do you feel about Unbound Elemental? Many times i just had it sitting in my hand because i had no reason to play an Overload spell or i played it and never had the chance to pump his stats... In the end i finally replaced it with Harvest Golem to get a more consistent minion.

Unbound is a card that usually draws so much attention, thus requiring imediate action. If it died fast, is because it ate a removal, which means its 1 less removal on the oponents hand. Harvest Golem would not eat that same removal, because its a weaker minion.
There is no reason to go Golem OVER Unbound, the only thing you can do is use both (2 unbound 1 golem, maybe?) but then you would have to take out another card. idk which D:

Exactly. It is a "soft taunt" and often gets killed very quickly. As Nuba says, it will eat removal, thus taking that card away from your opponent. But, if it lives and you power it up, it does even better. The whole card is a win/win.
I am yet to lose a close game versus Zoo. Usually if I lose is because I needed a storm or something and did not draw into it(i.e: I have a bad hand, and the zoo has a very good one. but then again: you'll lose all games where you have a bad hand and your oponent has a good one) Edit: my win rate against zoolock is somewhat close to 70%
How can your win rate vs zoo possibly be 70%? It is easily my worst matchup now running the exact same deck as you. I'm playing on rank 2 and they just destroy me. It doesn't even matter if i get lightning storms and lightning bolts as the overload makes it so that no matter how much you clear, you will never be able to build a board presence. It also doesn't help that 4/5 matches are against them. Is there any class in the current meta that has a decent matchup against zoo right now?

druid (ramp), priest most likely (the new variants), and shaman. Maybe there is something wrong with mulligans, perhaps?
Earthbound Elemental generally doesn't get an early removal to be honest, it just get killed by some opposing minion that's why i wonder a lot about it ;)
I only use one Mana Tide in my deck and i keep bouncing from 1 Golem to 2 and from 2 to 1 Unbound...
Got to rank 2, then lost 5 in a row to handlock. 4 giants+Rag+Alexstraza+2 manipulators... on top of that 2 shadowflames and 2 hellfires. How the frack do i play against handlock except for cases when i rush him in 6-7 turns?
I keep HEX against druids cos it might be ramp :) And warrior nowadays might be charge... never know. So in this case mulliganning like VS Zoo comes in handy.
After almost 100 games with this deck hovering around 53-55% win rate as with pretty much every other deck i play. Worst match-ups by far: handlock and rush token druid :(

Could you please explain how shaman can possibly beat zoolock? I have been stuck at rank 2 for 3 days now, never being able to advance because of the myriads of zoolocks where every game s a stomp.

You have to manage your resources better I guess, sometimes its good to go greedy on storms waiting another turn to then do a bigger hit (if you can!), your 1 mana removals and your doges (spirit wolfs) helps a lot too, mana tide is fun because if you manage to clear their board AND drop MTT in the same turn its pretty much game (your cards are stronger than his, and you'll both be getting 2 cards a turn while you'll be making much more favorable trades). But that is a situation alone.
The main goal here is to aim for favorable trades, maintain board control, 2 for 1 him the most you can (stuff like fire elemental help a lot with that), and KNOW whenever you are supposed to hit your storm button or not.
I just went on a streak from 1 star rank 2 til legend without dropping a single game! Played against very few warlocks, but did actually win the few times I did play against one. I think I might have been a bit salty when I said that you couldn't possibly beat them, as I had just lost to quite a few of them in a row pretty much without drawing storms at that point. Thanks a lot anyways nuba, your tips throughout this thread have helped tremendously, and my deck is more or less based on yours (with a few kolento inspired changes)
Legend hype!!!!! (My highest rank last season was 6 xD)
My tip to anyone trying to reach legend is to just keep going at it. For me it has seemed like I would always get stuck at one rank for a long time, just going up and down an equal amount of ranks, but if you just keep going you will eventually get on a streak of good luck and favorable match ups, and you will slowly but surely be able to make your way to legend.
I've been stuck at rank 14 - 15. Skill is a large factor, admittedly. I'd like to replicate the deck here or the one above this post, but I don't have access to the legendaries as of yet. What could change in this deck to better match these?
Oh... it seems that Hearthable requires payed membership to read Nuba's article on his new deck. Hmm...
Whats the point of Al Akir? Never liked it.
Rather use TBK or Argent Commander
Ditto, that sucks!
I wanted the achievement so I have a signature!

Gave this a first playtest on EU. Went from rank 5 to 4 (12-7, 63% win rate).
Warrior 1-0
Warlock 1-2
Druid 4-3
Shaman 3-1
Paladin 0-1
Rogue 3-0
Every game takes about 8-9 minutes, but it worked tonight. Let's see if i catch the same luck tomorrow :)

Best Legendary replacement for Al'Akir? I have enough dust to make a Legend, but if there is a comparable neutral, I'd like that more. xD
