Everytime I have faced it, I lose. Even with control warrior with a gorillion armour. This variant uses the double battlecry to go face with stuff like dunk tank, fire elemental, circus medic etc.
Wrong, Quest Yshaarj Shaman decks pack aoes, life gain, taunts, and generally more than enough minion to trade. Tickatus is a meme deck, even if they burn your yshaarj the deck can win, it's a matter of how to time things.
It's not the stats of the deck on hsreplay or tempo storm that matter, it's the player piloting those. Every deck has issues and bad matchups, but every deck piloted well can have over 50%. Also, if you can not-just-netdeck abd actually build the deck, deciding each card carefully, aggro can go fk itself along with netdeckers who meme tickatus... and still lose.
None of this deck will let you play Y'Sharji so... I am really curious
Nahh... my Y’sharji Shaman deck usually goes off most times. Hecklebot is wonderful tech to bring out Tickatus or their Y’sharji without activating their battlecries, plus we have plenty of removal for Aggro or other fast paced decks, including Avalanche which we just got.
That you don't have succes with the deck doesn't mean others do. Also how can you say aggro never let me play Y'Shaarj? I already said i have a good experience with the decks and that didn't mean i never get to play Y'Shaarj.
Quest shaman got me in legend this month. It's a really awesome deck type with many cool versions. My favorite is the one running two cobalt spellkin and pen flinger. Some run with big spells. In that case the dual class healing taunt is good. Some run full battle cry for the possible tempo play. I guess your answer depends on your dust and what you need? Corrupt the waters will rotate in two months or so. If you want to be as economic as possible, maybe no? It's one of my favorite cards, and you can probably make some really cool wild decks with it too, so I would recommend the two months of fun for 1600 dust (if you don't need a lot more). Y'shaarj is solid in many decks, so don't be afraid of crafting that.
BA5 has some good hints. I have similar experiences, but ended up playing a different deck without earthquake and brew. It's not a dedicated OTK deck. Often you just win by going face with your battlecries before playing y'shaarj, but that fella is evil against control decks.
There indeed a lot of versions and it depends on personal preferences / playstyle.
I noticed the Pen Flinger version is picking up. That list is, in my opinion, more a tempo / mid range list and not a combo deck like i am playing. When the Quest rotates out i probably look for a different Shaman list.
But again, i don't have that much trouble vs. Aggro. Too me the match-up is 50-50.
If by "good" you mean "able to put up a high win rate against much of the meta" . . . no.

Control shaman generally loses to Tickatus Warlock, and the ladder where I'm at is infested with Tickatus Locks right now :(
Try running 2x Hecklebots. It will bring out Tickatus and/or Y’sharji so they can’t do their battlecry. Just make sure you have a devolving missile or Torrent to get rid of whatever big comes out.

Just blow their heads off with comulo maximus and circus medic. No need for the whole deck. I even got one who burned both medics, Y'shaarj and 1 comulo. You can burst like a mad man with quest shaman (Pen flinger, kobold lackey, comulo maximus and lightning bolt). My diamond to legend WR was 64% btw. I'm not sure how well you'll do against the new stealth rouges thou...

Did you have any crowd control like Sandstorm Elemental or Lightning Storm or Landslide? That might be the ticket against the stealth rogue builds, with healing being the key against the weapon rogues.

Seems really strong, but is it worth crafting?
I am playing this but It is not very consistent. It performs well vs certain decks tho
Sorry there is a mistake in the deck Iinked. It's not mutate but lightning bloom
I think the Y'Shaarj version is waaay better.
Wrong. Tried different versions and with this fast meta you NEVER get to play Y'Shaarj, waaaay to slow
Well, i have a different experience.
I wonder what this experience is:
face hunter
aggro rogue
totem or evolve shaman
aggro druid
even Tickatus warlock

It's no surprise you're losing as control warrior because combo decks literally counter control decks.
But to answer your question, no...it's not a competitive deck. Just gets smashed by aggro too consistently.
All of those decks let me play Y'Shaarj.
Some tips:
Use your early battlecry minions to trade early game.
Dunk Tank, Sky Gen'ral Kragg to clear board mid game.
Run two Earthquakes to clear board mid and late game (which i do).
Run one Witch's Brew (which i do).
Don't be afraid to use a Circus Medic to heal.
PS

At which rank do you play?

Tickatus is dead in my ladder. Now it's weapon/stealth rogue and treant druid fiesta and the clearing is not enough
