Evolve is going to be around for 2 months in Standard. Before it came back, Quest Shaman was the most popular, but not the most powerful deck, and right when it leaves again, a new expansion will come out. Maybe Shaman will still be too good after the next launch, maybe it will completely disappear.
I thought people would not scream for nerfs when they know exactly how long a specific deck is going to stay. Ok, nothing new here, since we also saw decks nerfed right before they rotated out, but that was 4 months, not 2. But I guess to people who play nothing but Hearthstone, having one powerful deck with a highroll element is too much to deal with even for one month.
Maybe someday Blizzard will introduce weekly patches. And then they can nerf everything that people complain about as soon as people start complaining, until we get to a point where Chillwind Yeti is clearly limiting design space for having way too high stats, and should get nerfed to a 4/4 so that other 4-drops can also be viable.
Unless the Shaman gets incredible draw, it's nearly impossible to beat N'Zoth Priest. There's always a hugely popular deck, and there's always a Control Deck that beats it. Everyone cried to nerf Cubelock, then Even Paladin, then Face Hunter, then Bomb Hunter, now Quest Shaman. There will always be an abundance of the deck with the highest winrate. People play competitively, and want to give themselves the highest chance of winning. I wouldn't go play hockey with a stick made out of styrofoam because its 'more fun', and then complain that the other players use graphite... Adapt. Your meme deck is statistically going to lose alot of games. Either adapt to the ladder, or don't concern yourself with winning competitive games. That's all there is to it.
The quest is busted. It gives shaman insane value and it's very easy to complete. They need to change it to 10 minions minimum.
That is it.
I really don't understand why quest shaman is so easy to complete and have so insanely overpowered reward, the only one close to that is quest druid but a least the druid quest make the deck weaker to fast early agression, shaman quest don't have any weakness at all.
Shaman should not be getting set back over an amount of people who don't want to play it. Volcano is the only good Shaman card and Corrupt the Waters isn't as good as people make it out to be without there being any good Shaman cards with Battle Cry. Shaman is a good class. Blizzard should be supporting other archetypes like Aggressive and Midrange if they want anyone to feel better about people playing control variants.
Not sure that Shaman needs a Nerf with evolve going away.
It's a shame blizz was too lazy or incompetent to own up to their mistake of introducing evolve. I haven't played hearthstone much at all since then and I think there are many others like me. Maybe I'll get back into with the new expansion releasing soon
Don't worry shaman is going to suck big time when the expansion hits
Eh, Galakrond looks very strong for Shaman.
Does it? It is the weakest one if you ask me. The hero power is really bad. Not to mention the fact that once you play Galakrond your double battlecry is gone. I see it more in a control deck maybe but then please concvince me that it is better than Hagatha
The problem is the swing turns. Quest shaman wasn't stomping everyone before evolve came back, now you have to plan around a vicious turn 3/4, and it has sustain and direct damage into the late turns. Before they brought back evolve, quest shaman didn't have a lot of push in the middlegame. I think shaman's galakrond is pretty weak and runs counter to the quest. Hopefully things will stabilize when the wild cards leave standard.

You think the hero power is bad? Okay then. I disagree. First of all the best thing about Galakrond is that you don't have to play him until you are ready. Just keep playing double invoke cards and getting 2-4 2/1s with rush with the quest reward. Then when you are ready you press your double battlecry hero power then play galakrond and get 4 8/8 rushers. Sure you lose your hero power but it's a move that is a closer if you need it.

I'd be surprised if you play the quest with Invoke.

You don't realize that invoking Galakrond is a tempo loss (5 mana 3/3? Hello?) and quest shaman is all about tempo. You lose before you can even play Galakrond

5 mana 3/3 and 2x 2/1 rush...not a tempo loss, man.

5 mana 3/3 and 2x 2/1 rush...not much of a tempo loss, man.
This!
Also, I wouldn't mix the quest with galakrond. I think it'll be too cumbersome.
You can build a Galakrond deck with lots of rush stuff and then you can add Shudderwock for the extra 8/8 elementals (assuming you evoked 4 times)
IMO, the Shaman Galakrond is the 2nd best

9 last games, all vs shaman, all use evolve BS.
We don't have pirate warrior or token druid killing in turn 4 anymore to keep cards like this in check.
Nerf Evolve, ban from Standard forever and never bring back, do something.
The game is ruined pretty badly, same way when midrange shaman was Tier S.
WHAT THEY THINKING???
Evolve is a wild card so it would make no sense to nerf it. It'll rotate in like a week.

Honestly after evolve is sent back to wild, I say keep it the way it is. Quest shaman is just so much fun!
They should have never put those Wild cards in Standard!!!
Had to create a new profile because "something" went wrong with Hearthpwn!! Lost all my shit and they couldn't fix it they say!
Shame on you Heartpwn in these digital days!!
Oh yeah.….and FUCK Brainless Aggro
Quest shaman is absurdly good.
X much minions = mctech or sand (2dmg) + 3/4 rush with mutate to come a minion cost 8.
X Midrange = fuck the bord, burst face and win
X n zoth = murloc plague
X any deck coin+mutate+cost 3 rabbit
