How is this matchup supposed to be quite favored for the shaman according to stats sites? I can't see what the gameplan is against ramp-ramp-oakheart spiced up with some oaken summons every single game i have came up against this. Win rate is more like 10%. Any ideas??
Taunt druid doesn't have board clear. You should be far ahead when dragonhatcher comes.
Not far enough to get through the 12 health dragon it pulls while using mana on Hex at the same time on like turn 6. Considering you have had to get through a 6 health taunt previously and expend minions there.

But a perfect hand with ironbark, both ramps and dragon hatcher by turn 6 is not common. Wide even shaman Is the way to go, you need primalfin flametongue and knife juggler to have a very explosive start, they will have zero chance to recover with your perfect hand. By turn 6 you can kill the dragon with the tokens alone, remember that they doesn't have plague.
you're literally playing a Swarm deck against the only Druid deck that can't use Spreading Plague. You also have Hex to counter Hadronox and Cube.
When they highroll they win...which is true for literally any deck right now. Overall you can beat them down before they even get to 10-mana. You could even tech in Skulking geist to win the matchup even harder.

Don't know if you have been playing ladder this year, but you know you have to consider it can be other sorts of druids as well, and you cant really tell the difference early on when all druids play same ramp in start.

He is right. If you try to counter every deck you will always lose. For druid mulligan vs taunt druid, if they are token or any other it will be an uphill match even if you have favorable mulligan, it's not worth the risk of losing valuable cards to secure taunt druid matchup.
And I'm playing ladder, got to at least rank 5 on every season this year with only even shaman, doing this.
Hex isn't good just on Hadronox (which a good Druid player will never let you have a chance at) or Cube. Hexing anything dilutes the pool of taunts that Hadronox brings back, and means there's a chance that Witching Hour will bring back a Frog instead of a Hadronox.
But it's not just Hex that wins the matchup. You also have to have faith that the Shaman just has enough stuff to punch through quite a few taunts the old-fashioned way.
It depends if he ramps perfectly in oakheart. Without that play, it should be fairly easy with even shammy. Also direct damage on the dragonhatcher makes life hard for him (if you have any left). Otherwise tech in crushing hand so you can crush a dragon, and kill the Hatcher with your board. If you tech in a mossy horror, you can end the stream of dragons that way. Otherwise, just play as is and as if he doesn't have oakheart. You might as well go wide anyway as even shaman sucks against decks that run plague, but is quite good against taunt.

Hex cube/ hadronox
This doesn't do anything about the dragonhatcher that comes out at the same time, so no dice.
Zentimo... Hex

Zentimo is odd

Always good to see a shaman player losing

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Good joke :D
