Shaman got a lot of cool even cards this expansion. Hagatha the Witch, Murkspark Eel, even Totem Cruncher. 1 mana totems are nice too. I know Shudderwock stole the show, but I still think even Shaman has merit. That being said, I decided to revisit an oft-forgotten archetype.
I'm pretty sure they confirmed that even if something is in your opening mulligan/hand (such as a quest) Genn Greymane won't go off, your base deck has to have ONLY even cards. Your deck looks super fun though, so I'd hope I'm wrong. I want Shaman to be viable one way or another, especially now that they're losing doppelgangster evolve.
I'll find out one way or another. For now, since it's not in your deck, even at the "start of game," I'll assume it works. And yeah, I'll miss evolve. Especially now that we have Phantom Militia. Rest assured, evolve shaman will always be around in Thrall, Deathseer and I'll be trying to make a decent evolve deck in the new year
I'm brewing a very similar deck; even without the quest I'm sure it'll be very good! Also CRYOSTASIS turn 2 on a turn 1 totem will be great and the totem will unfreeze the end of THAT turn!!!
Personally, I think the only place Even Shaman works is in wild where you have Draenei Totemcarver and Thing from Below. I also don't think spamming low health minions is a good idea without Bloodlust. Murlocs in particular aren't that great without Warleader which Megafin, even if it did work, doesn't guarantee you. Hagatha resets your board with her battlecry making it a bad choice as it gives the opponent time to stabilize. If using Hero Power spam to flood the board is the goal, I'd probably include payoffs that benefit from having a board like Sea Giant, Necrotic Geist, or even Runespear/Tortollan Primalist for the off chance of potentially discovering Bloodlust, or really just anything that benefits from sticking windfury or Ancestral Spirit on it particularly the Lichking. Charged Devilsaur or Gilnean Royal Guard might not be bad choices either.
I also suggest adding 2x Zap! in addition to eel in any non-wild Even Shaman for the early removal.
Well now, don't I feel silly? And with a lot of totem/zoo support being odd or rotating, the deck feels incomplete... regardless, I promised even shaman and quest shaman so here's an even one.

Got any other ideas for even shaman? Or is Genn Greymane just not worth it? Also, how many murlocs is too many?
Praise RNGsus!

Hmm, maybe it needs more spells for spell power... high health taunts for healing totems... what else do you think?
