Yeah, getting +1 spell damage or taunt on demand, or every minion is a Witch's Apprentice. Not a very hard choice, since you don't need to gimp your deck with the Hagatha. The only positive with Baku, is that the effect is always there, but I am not sure if it is enough.
Idk, i'll still try it i think, but for now its not looking too great.
Don't blame you (like anyone else), because we don't have the needed cards yet, in order to make this work. But for me Baku is just a step in the right direction. He won't carry the class on its own, but I really see how control shaman would benefit from an upgraded HP. I really do. Normally I would also be skeptical seeing that you have to sacrifice halve of your useful cards, but that's the point - shaman got really shitty cards from the last 2 expansions and I won't mind not including them in my decks.
Inb4 I started an open project here (check the deck description). I will update it and I will put my thoughts, the more cards we see for shaman:
Made a forum post about this deck in General Deckbuilding but forgot there was a Shaman specific forum as well so I'll also post this deck here seeing there was already a thread about the topic.. my bad... feel free to comment here, the other thread (here: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-deck-building/214870-baku-in-shaman) or on the deck below, would really like some more feedback

1. Azure Drakes were probably best in shaman as we needed the draw + could use the spell power most consistently, they should be in the deck even if your collection doesnt have them.
2. You are running zero 1 or 2 drops which means you most likely will always lose board control, yet your only way to regain it is drakkari/volcano/totem+lightning storm which I do not find to be enough.
3. Thunder bluff seems to be your main win condo yet they cant do it alone and need support threats, otherwise theyre too easy to remove. Consider neptulon as he is big body, gives more fuel and has overload synergies. Id drop stormwinds for bigger threats.
4. At that point you start to run enough battlecries NOT to run brann. He is just too powerful not to run in slow midrange deck.
5. Havent been the biggest fan of evolve so cant say for certain but do you have enough consistent targets for it that dont get removed? Is doppel + evolve good enough in wild is the question which I do not know answer. Unstable is fine imo.

I'd like to add couple things to the deck.
1. Azure Drakes were probably best in shaman as we needed the draw + could use the spell power most consistently, they should be in the deck even if your collection doesnt have them.

I agree that Azure drake would probably be a good addition and yeah, more one drop minions or token generation would probably be worth considering. 2 drops are not worth talking about because it's a Baku deck. Dropping Stormwinds for bigger threats is definitely something I'll be doing when I play-test this deck. I'd consider Brann but I'm not sure I agree that there is enough powerful battlecry synergy to run him...although I can see it being potentially strong with Fungalmancer.
Overall, i'll be changing and updating the deck when the expansion comes out after testing things.
Hey, ArtZoyd, thx for coming up with a wild deck of your own. After I come back from work, I will gladly take some time in sharing my opinion with you.
Disclaimer: Obviously, we don't know what the full shaman suite of cards will look like.
That said, this is one of the classes where I think Baku would shine in a way that Justicar never could. Choosing your totem is terrible in a world where you have to draw a single 6/3 minion and play her for 6 mana.
Choosing your totems from the start of the game is potentially busted. Endless taunt or spell power totems is really good. When they're progressively building on one another that way (especially spell power totems) they become legitimate threats that need to be dealt with, considering Shaman's burn options.
I agree! I also think that Baku will be good in Rogue for the same reason: there's hardly a point of running a 6-mana do-nothing for better knives but better knives from the get-go is extremely powerful. Both of these decks will probably see some amount of success at high levels.
Well, I predicted the shaman set falsely. Shaman didn't get the needed spells after all and sadly I don't think that Baku Shaman will be good in standard in the next expansion. As much as I'm sold on the upgraded HP, that one required us to run many good spells* and while I didn't deny that, I just thought that it was high time that we will get something powerful. The only reliable spells, which will be good with the HP are Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst and Lightning Storm (and due to the lack of overload synergies this could be replaced one day).
Well, after I have a clear view of the shaman set, I'm sad to say that I don't see Baku shaman being a thing. Shudderwock could be used as a win-condition I guess, but other decks will have far more reliable builds than this one. So yeah, the hype is over.
{note} I will reply to people's posts above, but I don't think that I will spam any further in here (at least until the 2nd expansion comes). * (other people brought up that argument, I wanted to honor them)

Hey, ArtZoyd, thx for coming up with a wild deck of your own. After I come back from work, I will gladly take some time in sharing my opinion with you.
So i've made this:
Heavy control focused on bloodlust finisher. Basically i filled it with a ton of battlecries that are useful for shurwock legendary.
I found that i can do something similar with quest Shaman or elemental shaman, but anyway, what do you guys think?
Edit: Forgot that Moroes will go to wild, so added cube instead
Spamming in this thread one last time:

In wild you can run a baku deck I guess, but why ruin the consistency, when you have better options to choose from (Ancestral Knowledge, Devolve, Crackle, Ancestor's Call and Emperor Thaurissan for Malygos)? And I think I have missed some key cards.

It may not be as competitive as we would have hoped and I agree with everything you said. However, still gonna try it cuz it'll be fun :)
