I also agree that shaman needs a very strong deck instead of what’s going on now: a lot of weak decks / failed archetypes. Last expansion they tried to push battlecry shaman, but only a few jade shamans popped up. If you list it you can see the class really lacks identity (and also had bad card draw.)
Maybe they get a complete new archetype (like totems and battlecry in KnC...) but i hope that somewhere this year the elemental decks get a lot more resources. I dont think it fits the theme of withwood, but perhaps the 3th expansion
Blizzard did mention that they considered the shaman spellstone one of the strongest cards in the set that just doesn't have a home YET. Although TFB rotates which used to be the best card to combo with spells tone against anything remotely aggressive, I feel like cards will come that make spellstone worth playing. As for Genn decks, the 2 drop is absurdly good and if shaman gets any sort of win condition for a totem spam deck that can't run bloodlust it could be strong. Hagatha appears to be the decider on the classes strength since other than spellstone or bloodlust the class is essentially unable to kill people.
Yes, they say that, but at I fail to see how a very conditional 7 mana can be anything but garbage. Shaman has plenty of other ways to push an advantage, so that "home" is at the graveyard of cards with overvalued effects.
I think blizzard is confused about what they want shaman to be. They make a legendary about murlocs Neptulon then a quest, suddenly they try to force a freeze architype out of thin air, then they give up and come back to evolution/overload, is really disturbing trying to build a shaman deck this days.
the thing is not only about having too many different mechanics, the real problem is that the 2 main mechanics (Evolution and Overload), completely counter each other and the new one ( freeze) don't have enough cards to work right, so we have a really small card pool to use on any deck we want to make. Warlock faced the same problem back in ungoro release, the discard mechanic countered any other type of deck you wanted to make and didn't have that many cards to work properly. So, how did blizzard fixed that? let's make cards so overpowered that ppl will have to play warlock, this cards being Voidlord , Dark Pact , Bloodreaver Gul'dan , Kobold Librarian , Possessed Lackey . Following that thought, they are going to do the same with shaman right now, and the new hero card might just confirm that.
Based on what information? No cards have been revealed yet except for a teaser of an "OP" playable hero. We don't even know what it does.

What shaman needs is a reprint of icelance and a leyline that reduces freeze cards instead. Malygos is its last chance.
