1- Always try to save + Attacks and Windfury cards for the KO.
2- Always try to beat your opponent down to win with minimum combinations of combo as possible.
3- Use your Hero Totems a lot especially in the first few turns due the lack of minions in that stage.
4- If you have Mana Tide Totem and your Opponent got 0 monsters on the field or you have Taunt creatures that your opponent doesn't have an answer to, Throw it, you will either get at least 2 draws out of it or the opponent will waste a destruction card against it thanks to it's amazing 3 health pool.
This deck is quite a lot of fun, playing this atm intensivly and my winrate is around 70% i'd say. Sometimes its tricky to survive the early phase when opponent keeps dropping a loot of creatures (especially with taunt) and you won't draw lightning storm / feral spirits etc. If you survive this phase and you manage to get one of those tigers through its pretty devastating. I had some games where i was down to 5 to 10 hp.. and opponent thought i'm done... but then a 11/5 tiger with windfury smashed his face.
I really like this deck ... its fun to play when you get used to it. And.. its not that hard to build it as there are no epics or legendaries. I swapped 1x Stormforged Axe for 1x Doomhammer as this works pretty well with Rockbiter Weapon (Thats 10dmg) if you dont have a minion out to finish your opponent because he manged it somehow to clear your side.
How do you cope with such a dearth of low cost minions? Every time I try this deck on Diamond 3, I get such a massive pounding in early game that by the time I get my stealth tiger set up with windfury, the game is already settled.
Edit: After a few matches, I think i'm getting the hang of it. The trick is being relatively aggressive with board control abilities early on to compensate for a lack of minions until your big guys start coming out.
exactly :) thats the point, be as aggressive as possible until you can get out the big guys. I slightly modified the deck, which works even better for me. I'll post it later as i'm at work atm.
I like the concept. I have a similar deck idea, but this one may be more simple. I like the stranglethorn in this deck. Dark Iron Dwarf could possibly be subbed for the squire that gives +2 attack for one turn to be able to throw down the complete combo sooner. I would actually consider getting rid of blood lust for lava burst, because blood lust is so expensive. . .
Lava is great for those troublesome creatures ( Mostly high health Taunt creatures ) where your throw your lava to finish them off and go for the dual attack combo (Can be subbed with Blood Lust). I think Iron Dwarfs will be much more useful as you will gain +2 attacks to any other monster (Tiger) which will be in reality at value (4 because of the double attack), The problem with unbound is that I have to waste few turn's worth of mana just to bump him up.
I like the Dark Iron in my variety because of the blood lust as he is (4/4) that will be bumped up to (7/4) which is also a second candidate for Windfury and can take a beating (Plus he has the magic number 4/4 so priests will cry).
I built this deck. I replaced one of the fire elementals with an earth elemental, and I really like it. It gives you a lot of options to deal with almost every situation, which I like.
Coincidentally, I trialed a similar build last night; Though more minion heavy deck of course, I like to be aggressive with gaining board control. Didn't go too well unfortunately, but I'll try it again later.
It's true, this deck does need more minions. I tried it on ranked and got wrecked through minion rush. Lightning storm is good but sucks when you consider overload and how it effects your early game strategies. If you can get dark iron dwarf + stranglethorn tiger + rockbiter + windfury...it's almost a one hitter. But, relying on that one card to make a push is bad once your opponent board wipes you afterward.
Other Decks:
3 Star Master Competitive Control Shaman Deck
[Madskull] Paladin Competitive Swarm Deck ~ Budget
The idea is quite simple, using your Windfury / Windspeaker cards to grant Windfury to Stranglethorn Tiger ( mainly ) or other creatures then buffing them up with cards like Bloodlust / Rockbiter Weapon / Dark Iron Dwarf / Flametongue Totem for the kill.
Strategy:
1- Always try to save + Attacks and Windfury cards for the KO.
2- Always try to beat your opponent down to win with minimum combinations of combo as possible.
3- Use your Hero Totems a lot especially in the first few turns due the lack of minions in that stage.
4- If you have Mana Tide Totem and your Opponent got 0 monsters on the field or you have Taunt creatures that your opponent doesn't have an answer to, Throw it, you will either get at least 2 draws out of it or the opponent will waste a destruction card against it thanks to it's amazing 3 health pool.
5- Your Big Boys are Fire Elemental and Stranglethorn Tiger so try to save them because they are the steps to the promise land :)
6- Save Lightning Bolt / Earth Shock/ Hex to deal with the troublesome cards, you wouldn't want to sacrifice your precious creatures.
7- Don't waste your Stormforged Axe to hit the Enemy Hero when he is on high health get his minions instead unless you are planing to OTK him.
8- The Above rules are meant to be broken on special conditions of course XD
Other Viable Cards:
Lava Burst: Obvious 5 Damage.
Jungle Panther: Stealthy + Windfury + buffs = Ouch!
LEEROY JENKIEEES: 4 mana drop for 6 Attack charge + Rockbiter Weapon (1) + Windfury (2-3) = 18 Damage for 7-8 mana! WTF?

What would you sub out for Lava burst? Also have you tried Unbound elementals in place of Dark Iron Dwarfs?
I seem to be winning more with bloodlusting totems+wolfs than I ever do with getting a tiger or Fire elemental buffed with windfury.
Having that option is nice if you can't get the OTK.
I do love having my opponent sitting at like 26+/- and just winning in one turn. Makes me laugh so hard.

Guys this is a very outdated deck list, many patches and stat changes happened after it.
