Shaman is arguably the best class of the meta, this is usually a fact for everyone. However I simply cannot perform well with Shaman decks.
When one-one and a half year ago Shaman was in a shitty position it was understandable, but even at its peak it seems when I pick Shaman to play I am simply out tempod and utterly crushed but other players.
I've tried Face Shaman an hour ago and I was crushed 4 times out of 5 games. (By Pirate Warrior, Midrange Shaman). I simply run out of steam and I also have a problem coordinating overload cards. Also the opponent always have an answer, making my overload turns pointless.
It seems everyone and their cat can pilot Shaman but I can't. It is utterly confusing because I can pilot various control decks, Freeze Mage, generally more complicated decks, but not Shaman with overload management. How should I improve?
Don't let these people fool you, this game is not a rocket science, just play on curve you will be fine. You should always consider spending all your mana as an option, and you should have a good reason to not spend all your mana. Good luck.
Kind of crazy that you are struggling with piloting one of the easiest decks in the game. You literally only have to plan for the turn that you are playing to get results. Legend players plan for the next turn too. I know thinking about what you want to do next turn and what you are going to do this turn is a lot to take in, but with enough practice, you too can play Shaman.
Make your strongest play each turn without locking yourself out of the next. It's not that hard. There are only 10 mana crystals and none of the current popular shaman decks run any cards that overload for more than 2. It is very basic math here. Not even trying to be mean, but it is one of the most widely played decks for a reason.
I used to have this issue. You're probably just making the mistake that, because it's aggro shaman, you don't have to try or think critically about any of your moves in order to win. You still do. Try to avoid just making the "obvious" on-curve play each turn and take a few seconds before deciding what to do.
Indeed I think I might handle the deck as too simplistic, rarely thinking about ideal play, sometimes vomiting to much overload.
Another explanation might be that I rarely play Shaman. For reference I have 20 ranked wins with Shaman, compared too 200-400 ranked wins with Warrior, Mage, Paladin, Hunter, Druid, and Warlock each, meaning I have more experience with those classes maybe (I play this game for 2 years now).
I will try to Improve with Shaman, maybe with a more Midrangy approach, or control. Thanks anyway.
Shaman is my worst class too. Haven't played it in ranked since GvG. I know, I could do fine with it if I put some time into practice.
In fact you answered your own question. Just play 50+ games with the deck and you'll start getting it. It's still early in the month, so you'll have time to climb back if you lose few ranks in the process.

Nice try mate, good click bait thread 5/7 ;)
Er... don't overcommit as mid-range, don't overload yourself into having no play as aggro?
Ain't that hard.
And 4 games mean nothing.
Don't play braindead decks maybe?

Dead but dreaming
I also can't seem to play shaman properly. I do better with tier 2/3 decks than a broken deck like shaman, go figure.
This comment section is retarded. All people do is flame OP.

You can try a different shaman deck. Check the deck on my signature, it's reno shaman :P

Thank you, all of you for the answers.
