Overload "X" means that next turn you have "X" less mana crystals available.
For example on turn 5 you have 5 mana crystals available and you play a card with overload 2, the following turn you will only have 4 mana crystals available (5-2+1)
The turn after that though your mana crystals are made available again.
The way Blizzard explains it is that the cards have their mana cost split in two turns.
Overload cards are very powerful once you learn how to play them effectively. They may sometime stunt your board growth on your next turn but if you can use them to take control of the board then most of the time the next turn won't be a problem.

Oh thanks, totally get it. so the benefit would because they cost less mana but next turn youll be crippled
