Hello hearthpwn forums, this is my first post here although I am not unfamiliar with the website. I have attempted to build a control rogue, I know sounds horrible, to my surprise it does work well just not as well as secret pally or aggro decks. The basics of the deck is bulky minions Anub'arak (who is actually pretty good) and life recuperation (Reno, Refreshments and Bots). It is amazing against Warrior and mage from what I've played because Anub is always gonna be back. Priest and shaman especially aggro shaman not so much.
The cards that are essential are burgle, Anub'arak, atlas three taunts (any less and I've found board control is less good), Defender of Argus, all three heals (Reno, Refreshment Vendor, Antique healbot), and Unearthed Raptor. Anub'arak and raptor single handedly win a ton of games in the late game because the return of Anub and the raptor which also leaves the nerubian behind is usually a lot of value. The only way to lose in end game is if your opponent silences Anub.
The less important but still good cards are Sir Finley Mrrgleton, Tomb pillager, Alexstraza and Loatheb. Sir finley provides a nice bonus if your tempo is bad and you need a better hero power, I found warrior, mage and priest do best because of ping and tanking coming in handy. Tomb pillagers let's you get an early Anub out which can win you the game or the coin will just improve your tempo in general. Loatheb is pretty obvious it is just a nice center if you are at low health and don't want to die to burst damage before you get your Reno/Heals/Taunt. Alex is just in general good for a win condition or a less good Reno.
In general a lot of taunts, health buffs and kills, and just annoying minions and spells (burgle/kidnapper). Tell me what you guys think of it how i should change it how you would change it and hopefully give it a plus one and make a nice fun deck to play and play against.
TL;DR Pretty good (I think) attempt at control rogue needs lots of help
Oh man I thought I did, also is there any way to move this. Also have you had any success with doomsayer for me it usually doesn't work how I'd like it too.
Edit: snap wrong subforum
Double edit: for some reason it's not letting me change the deck in the post. It keeps showing me Ysera and beneath the grounds like they are still there.
Alexstrasza/Ysera/Anub'arak: 3 9 mana minions seems a bit too much, Anub'arak is ok but you really won't have much turns to play a 9 mana minion again, Ysera is too random to be playable in rogue "control", you don't have as much tools as priest to wipe the board or kill big minions, you can't afford get a BS dream card.
Unearthed Raptor: It will be a 3/4 most of the time, you can play something better like SI-7 for example.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
You can't harass members who play Face Hunter, nor are they compelled to make preemptive apologies or justifications for playing it. They don't hack or crack their opponents' game, they simply play existing cards that form a specific deck. If you suck at countering Face Hunter, you should blame the designers, not the community.
Thanks for moving this and I would like to reply to Nihls.
Thanks for the suggestions I have changed up the deck a little bit but the Original post is staying the same for some reason. Anub'arak and Alexstraza are actually really useful although I do agree Ysera is kind of a flop more of an experiment but Anub loses a lot of tempo so Ysera doesn't really work.
Unearthed I usually save for the end because him and Anub make it so that there is no fatigue and I get 2 nerubians if there are boar clears which is nice. Tomb pillager is still pretty good in this deck for me because the coin is nice for early big minions or just a more efficient turn but other than that your suggestions were really solid.
Thanks again and I'll report back when I'm done testing new deck.
But in general control rogue has a wide choice of options to choose from, it's really up to you and which deck you wanna be better against, because you can't be the best deck againt every types out there ^^
Here's my attempt at a midrange/control rogue deck, I know that it might seem like it has illogical cards, but think about it, a deadly poison to deal with the early minions, then mrgrlgrl to get a better hero power that would fit your opponent's play style, you then play lots of value minions and priority targets, then play the trump card: Anub'arak, I've won so many games against control warriors that have used Sylvanas Windrunner and didn't get anything out of it
Yes, that is what my deck is like except Emperor Thaurissan and Nexus champion Saraad. I tried the emperor and and no success with him he was too slow and in general didn't really help where I played him. Saraad on the other hand I never even thought of, how do you play him, he could be interesting.
Emperor Thaurissan should only be used when you have some relevant combo parts, as well as big legendaries that can be played at a discounted price, for instance, post-E.T. you can use Anub'arak + a hero power effect, SI:7 Agent, topdecked Eviscerate and so on, Nexus-Champion Saraad can either be played on turn 5 to take removal for a safer E.T. or later in the game, whether if you've changed your hero power or not with the murloc, it won't matter, you use it for the card draw and it usually is something that will more or less help you, I've got Mind Control quite a few times vs control warriors, for reference
In theory, no, it might seem good, but while they cast spells, in this meta full of shamans and maybe even tempo mages/secret pallies, you're basically giving them free Innervates while they can even mill you with the cheap spells that they'll transfer, so I'd avoid using Gally
EDIT: I don't doubt its playability, but in a meta where people strive to use their burst spells and finish their opponent as soon as possible, granting them coins that would speed the process (basically for free) would be a bigger hinderance than benefit in its raw stats, yet again, this is only my opinion

That is theory. In practice he's really worth it, as well for his vanilla stats (5/8 for a 6-drop is just amazing) as his effect against all midrange/control decks. Playtested.

It would be wayyyyy easier if you posted a deck list :)
I've tried to do a control rogue too, you can take a look at my list if you want, maybe you'll find ideas.

There's a few cards that seem out of place;
Annoy-o-Tron: might aswell play an Explosive Sheep or even a Doomsayer.
Piloted Shredder/Tomb Pillager: Both good cards but they doesn't really fit in a control deck imo.
Shiv/Backstab: Not impactful enough to deserve a spot in a deck like that.
There's a few other cards that I don't really like; like Beneath the Grounds or Zombie Chow but they can be good or a least average.

I'm back and can confirm deck was pretty good. (rank 3)
Please leave some more suggestions though because I still feel like it is missing something, removal maybe, I don't know.
-Baron Rivendare +Eviscerate and -Shiv +Assassinate maybe?
