Azure is a non-negotiable 2x, I think the argument of 2xPiloted Shredder vs Violete Teacher is flawed because Violete Teacher is a good 1x in addition to 2xPiloted Shredder for people who want to fill the curve at 4, so it's also a question of 1xEdwin Vancleef or Violete Teacher

I'm not saying "this is how it is" I'm asking why run two piloted over two violet and vice-versa. My preference is two piloted, but I don't really know why. I don't like the RNG, but it seems better.
I've been preferring Shredder lately. Violet Teacher requires you to have specific cards in your hand for it to be good and dropping it without playing any spells feels awful, whereas Shredder is still value even if it dies immediately. However, getting a perfect Teacher on turn 4-5 can let you dominate the board for many turns so I usually like to include 1 still.
Off-topic: What in the hell does "proc" mean?

Violete is better vs aggressive decks like Zoo, if it goes unchecked you basically win.
Pros: + Provides several bodies. + Synergy with spells.
Cons: - Can screw up the oil. - Unleash the hounds. - Not sticky. - Requires spells in order to be amazing.
I do consider Shredder being the superior 4-drop most of the time but teacher is still solid. That is why I run 2xShredder and 1xViolet T. in my Oil Rogue deck.
Proc was originally short for "spec_proc" (spec_proc is short for "special process"[1]) which is a term used by the original programmer of Circle-MUD, Jeremy Elson. It might have been used by the original programmers of diku-MUD as well. Special processes in Circle-MUD are functions that can be assigned to objects, players, and locations in the world such that each time an event occurs, the special process function will be invoked. Special processes were used in Circle-MUD for a wide variety of purposes: Creating room events when a person typed a specific string of text, causing a weapon or piece of armor to perform a magical action, and even causing a mobto do something that it wouldn't normally do.[2]
I know there is a lot of flexibility in oil, but which would be better to run two of in the current meta?
Azure Drake can be included in the question as well but I general always run two azure.
Well what's lame is that the violet teacher procs before the oil so the oil buff can go on the 1/1

Golden Heroes: Druid -> Rogue -> Shaman -> Hunter -> Warlock
Proc is like trigger. As in the 1/1 triggers before the buff is applied so it's possible for it to get the buff instead of another minion.
Piloted Shredder
Pros:
+ Hard to remove.
+ Can trade up.
+ Value almost always.
Cons:
- Deathrattle can backfire.
Violet Teacher
Pros:
+ Provides several bodies.
+ Synergy with spells.
Cons:
- Can screw up the oil.
- Unleash the hounds.
- Not sticky.
- Requires spells in order to be amazing.

It's an old-school term from the days of MUDs (text-based online games/RPGs).
