Can someone explain me why every Oil Rogue decklist has Violet Teacher ? I think Violet Teacher is a very good card but more control-oriented. The Oil buff goes too many times on the apprentice.
Because you need at least some form of a board in order to survive. You need to have some form of board presence in order to contest the board and to chip away at the opponent to prepare them for the combo. Violet Teacher accomplishes both those tasks, and gives your opponent a threat to get distracted on while you draw into your burst. Maybe you could try something like Piloted Shredder or Gnomish Inventor in it's place, but they don't have nearly as much synergy and are less of a threat than a Violet Teacher.
Violet Teacher is a great board card that interacts well with Rogue's abundance of cheap spells. The anti-synergy with tinker's usually isn't a big deal.
I often question between VT and the nax card for the 4 mana slot. both seem pretty reasonable. then again I don't have preparation, a significant card for vt's viability : (

VT doesnot fit my game style so i took her out for Gnomish Inventor for the card draw and the 2 for 1 against aggro.it was really annoying to give the +3 at a 1/1 and lose the game for that.but that's my opinion.

Hm.... I don't remember my VT will survive that long for me to combo off. Usually she will be a KOS target, which is fine. This is a card that you can't afford to kill, but can't afford to let live.

Violet teacher is a core card in oil rogue, like azure drake and bloodmage thalnos. It has synergy with cheap spells to generate board presence. Like azure drake and bloodmage thalnos for card draw and boost all your cheap spells and deal more damage.
Some people use shredders instead and its fine too since they fit on the 4 mana spot and they are hard to remove but i prefer the violet teacher anytime..
I am, as of right now, running one VT and two Shredders. I feel that gives me some variation to what I can do. The Shredders provide damage and usually function as a 2for1. The VT are more control-oriented, and helps me build up a board.
If you don't understand VT in rogue, chances are you're playing it wrong or at a very low rank. It's an absolute core card of the deck.
Answers like this are completely without value.
Also, you are definitely mistaken. VT vs shredder in oil rogue is completely legit debate, esp if you run 2xfan. It's dependent more on your local meta than some generalized "if you don't know why, you're dumb"-argument.
One of the reasons that people are running piloted shredders is because of grim patron warriors. The 1/1 apprentice can help them create more patrons. Also the shredders are harder to remove and if they get killed the deathrattle summons another minion which is good for activating the oil combo. Violet is better against control decks tho.
Well if its working well for you its fine then :) violet teachers and piloted shredders are both really good in oil rogue, some people just favor one over the other or find one more useful than the other according to their playstyle. Imo both are good and i persobally like the violet teachers a bit more. They only time i play the shredders is when i run into a lot of patron warriors. I dont think chrommagus and gallywix fit in oil rogue since they are two slow and consume too much mana and oil rogue is a combo deck not a control deck but if it works for you its fine. Id put edwin vancleef instead of gallywix or even a shade of naxxramas and loatheb instead of chromaggus.
Hi fellows, I came to the forum exactly because of this same issue. I am running a violet teacher in my oil rogue and so far it has not helped in any of the matches I fought. I am considering replacing it by one of these three options:
This is my current deck (I have switched to rogue this season to get golden hero, only rank 5 at the moment). You will see a Shade of Naxx already there, but I have not only tested it in game, still running the violet teacher actually:

Wouldn't be another card stronger for that spot ?
You mean another card that can generate creatures for board control in a spell heavy deck ?
