Rogue is decent against Priest but you really need to get early Anubisath Warbringer deathrattle and look for hex from Zephrys. Galakrond Shaman with Hex and Zentimo is a better counter.
I don't think it's an easy matchup for Highlander Rogue but when I win I usually just try to pressure them as much as possible, while not completely flooding my board and just hope they miss on some resurrection. I always keep sap, and I play Albatros so I always keep him and zephrys. I sometimes use Leeroy just to summon him some whelps.
Highlander Rogue has a lot of threats and so many ways to generate resources they just don't get to play them quickly in other matchups but against Priest you can take your time, and eventually you will outvalue the Priest pretty easily.
I honestly think it the match up is quite easy as the rogue. You just have to put constant pressure on the board while also delaying their quest as much as possible. Count their removal and resurrect cards and only start hitting face when they run low on cards and you are sure you can beat them down in the next couple of turns.
Dq alextraza and galakrond are you friend here, gala helps keeping the board in check (they barely put any pressure on the board) while alex can provide you with the extra value to finally beat them down, especially if you shadow steep her.
It will always be a very long match where you have to keep your own cards and your opponents cards in mind, but I think it is very hard to lose this match up as the rogue...
it is hard you need constant pressure on board but the worst match up against highland rogue is stupid otk decks. it feels like count down if you cannot defeat them in given number of turns you lose.
I played countless as Highlander Rogue vs Quest priest and lost 1 or 2.
You have way more value than them. Mulligan for galakrond (try not to upgrade it, since the match will go to fatigue 99%), Kronx is also a keep. With the dragon lackey waxadread is a great pick, with the ethereal one the Togwaggle Scheme (save it for Togwaggle, 2 legendaries every turn or Kronx). Don't attack them even if you have big boys, wait till they complete their quest (most of the time they'll be forced to heal you). And try to save your removals for their resurrection turns. It's important that you never leave something on their board, specially once they completed the quest. If they run hakkar, that's a problem, use zephrys to hex it.
I was playing against a deathrattle rogue, i silenced his 2/5, he then ankar'd it and played the 1/1 anubis, then i played zephers and took control and killed it off, he conceded quick quickly....!
